I’ve been listening to Dominican/Spanish music on the regular since my first visit to the DR in 2015. The first female dembow artist I started following was La Perversa after I heard “Amor Realengo.” Through following Perversa’s music, I ended up discovering Tokischa from “No Me Voy Acostar.” After checking out some of her other videos I realized that out of the 3, Tokischa had the entire package and already LOOKED like an artist because of her style of dressing. Fell in love with her and been follow her ever since. Then I started seeing her working with Pharrell, Rosalia, J Balvin Marshmello, Madonna, etc. and I’ve been cheering for her watching her go higher and higher. This interview is the first time I’ve been able to hear her story and I’m even more proud of her hearing everything that she has been through and where she is today. I hope she continues grow, be successful and be an inspiration of hope to the millions of girls who are in the situation that she came from. Love you Tokischa! ♥️

Have you seen her social media? Half the time she's posting borderline softcore porn. And no. I'm not some old person acting shocked. Outside her music, she is very extra with her content. There's a blind double standard to what she does. If Madonna was a 65 year old man? The energy around what they've been doing would be way different. Not bashing on her music. It's that she uses peoples empathy to make excuses for what she posts. I'm really shocked at how many passes she gets because she lived a rough life, or because she's openly gay, or because she gets industry cosigns. Good for her for bringing herself out of her situation. But monetizing herself has a hypersexual personality? I really can't imagine a young girl thinking everything she posts is healthy and okay.
