Same here. Being a fighter pilot was my dream job. Got side tracked with music in my teenage years, then when I decided I do actually want to pursue aviation my health had other plans. Now I'm lucky if I'll ever fly a Cessna without a CFI in the cockpit lmao These videos are bittersweet because I know this is what I was meant to do, but squandered the opportunity when I had it. If I had stayed focused and actually been mindful of how I treat my body the health issues that banned me from the cockpit would have 100% been avoided. Such is life. If your health is good and you're still young you should go for it, or at the very least get your PPL! There is no joy like the joy of flying!

Why do some pilots not have the JHMCS helmet on ..? I just cannot imagine a reason why any pilot would give up that resource ... so I'm assuming it cannot be bc they're doing Attack or EW ... bc those would probably benefit from integration with the interface. Thanks (if anyone knows).

Because not all avionics are compatible with it and there's also the issue of availability. They are very expensive. Also some pilots just don't prefer to use it or they are not prioritized for that specific mission or flight.
