Legend has it, Goku is still giving tours of Akihabara, albeit with a little more gray in that spiky hair...

I really love this 90's style of tv, or I should say, CRT style. I enjoyed this episode!! Keep it up, John!

Thank you for this, it brings back many great memories, I miss old Akihabara. As someone who grew up in the '80s/'90s, the shows I watched (Tomorrows World) and the authors I read (William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, etc) made Japan look like a futuristic cyberpunk world. As a computer nerd (back when you would get bullied for it) Japan was a dream destination, once I got a paying job in the early 2000's I was able to go and Akihabara was fascinating and so much fun. All of that is mostly gone now and it's 98% anime-related stuff, so I rarely spend more than an afternoon in the area nowadays.

2009, the year that my eldest daughter was born. And she's about to do her entrance exams for high school! How quickly time passes!! And watching this video from Akihabara of old, how the Akiba area has changed since this video was recorded.

17:57 I remember going to Akihabara in 2001 to shop for a digital camera. I went to one of those duty free stores and I asked where their digital cameras were located. The sales person led me to a long shelf that had hundreds of digital cameras. I was overwhelmed but after that one day I managed to find and buy my digital camera for 60,000 yen. Yes, expensive. In hindsight I should of done some research before going to Akihabara. I definitely would have saved time and a headache😕
