The thing with excel if you start teaching yourself and creating your own calculations its pretty cool but once it´s sth you have to do for school the ambition and motivation might suffer! My tip is start doing your own calculations which will ignite a spark eventually ;-)

Most US high schools have electives for stuff like automotive, metal and wood working, business, CS, cooking and even stuff like floral care, and photography. There's also trade schools for after high school. Most teenagers in high school just don't take advantage and would rather have fun then worry about adulthood.

@@isaiahbaggett5014 There'd be a riot because Schools in the US are usually 2-3x the size with 5-6x less time to do any cleaning. Oh, and we tax people who live near the school to hire people to deal with the cleaning...instead of taxing people who live near the school, charge parents of certain schools for their child attending, and then instead of using that money to hire people to do the cleaning, force the children to do it. Perspective.

Not just raising cows, but the student to teacher ratio. 360 students but 60 teachers is amazing and that's like private school level. I really like the welding workshops and other trades they offer. In my hs, we used to have auto shop but maybe not anymore bc of budget cuts. There was 40 students to 1 teacher for my high school in the US.

There are plenty of American schools like this. We call them "technical" or "trade" high schools, focused more on introducing students to the workforce instead of college. I would like to see less homework and more lunchtime though!

As an American, primarily living in the heartland of thr US (Kansas) seeing Soma and his classmates take to farming and cattle makes my heart happy. I took 4-H and FFA, so theres a soft spot for Agriculture. Needless to say, I'm planning a trip to Japan and id love to see some farms out there. They work so hard just like we do, and they're so proud! You definitely see it in their life and work.

Soma is such a hardworking, humble and motivated young man. I always was interested about Japanese highschools especially with the curriculum and focus on student development in knowledge, skill and health are major focus points. I remember a long time ago I wished I could enroll as an exchange student just so I could experience these things and would actually have learned more real world experience back in school. Amazing video as well, keep up such well done content!

This brings me many happy memories - I was a teacher in Kagoshima at a junior women’s college many years ago - we had specialised courses too - for English, nursing and nutrition! I always appreciated how thoughtful, kind and fun my students were and hope their hard work then has made them successful and happy now 😊 also, Soma’s mum is a legend!

Actually, a lot of high schools (especially in the Midwest) have 4-H programs that are very similar--though maybe not the ag-centric classroom education.

I went to one of the largest technical schools in North America and at the time you could take specialty programs from auto mechanics to aerospace. We even had an airplane hanger for airplane mechanics. It was also used in Good Will Hunting.

Absolutely love these videos, I've watched every single one of them. The US could really benefit from more of this - teaching practical life skills and responsibility. I watch videos like this and think about all the kids that would have literal heart attacks being asked to clean the school. Academics are important, but so far life skills and being a good person! I just love all the respect and kindness Japan values.

Paolo has mentioned before in a Q&A video that his main issue is getting permission/access from the companies or organizations. He said while it has gotten easier since this channel is bigger, so they take him to be more legitimate, however a lot of organizations have a lot of red tape to go through, and can take months of correspondence back and forth. So a lot of times he just moves on to another subject or video.

I really love this content showing the story about a Japanese high school in the countryside with few specialized education like farming, it does sure give a inspiring story to know about this to deepen the understanding the Japan and its cultures. This was a excellent video!
