@@JJT1705 ​​⁠the anime did’t even follow the manga properly. they changed SO many details, even some of the crucial scenes to the point where some parts of the story just didn’t make sense. i don’t even consider root A an adaptation as they used only about 20% of the original material. although :re followed the manga better, there were still some details changed and removed. the original timeline is 10x better than the one in the anime. you should really give the manga a try. yes you’ll be disappointed at the anime but you’ll understand the true worth of this work of art.

First season was almost perfect. They did cut a bunch of stuff such as the rc gate and censored the torture scene but overall it felt good. They even rearranged chapters and fixed certain parts of the plot to give slightly more development to certain characters. Unfortunately things went downhill from there. Ishida asked for an anime only continuation of his story but the higherups had set the dumb rule of 12 episodes per season so the rest of the staff was on fire trying to work with the aogiri Kaneki concept, which is a great concept but can’t be executed in 12 episodes. Then re came out and it did follow the manga rather well but the new director chose to speedrun the whole thing to fit in 12 episodes. Plus since the previous season was not canon, it was missing so much context. Final part just jumped to the final arc while skipping a fuck ton of cool things such as white suit Kaneki. The only positive it did was cutting the things Ishida introduced but didn’t explore (naga serpent) but that was only to fit in as much as possible in 12 episodes. Overall Tokyo Ghoul has one 9.5/10 season (the rest never happened)and the best soundtrack in anime history. Hopefully pierrot will give it the love it’s currently giving to bleach

He literally as a starting ghoul faced off against the Bin brothers and with his intellectuality defeated them but Yamori came along and we all know what happened next.... I hate it in the anime that it was Ken Kaneki who killed Yamori himself Ken said in the manga that he wouldn't kill him lest he become the kind of monster he is

No matter how gr8 anime remake they make , may it be berserk or TG , I think it will never capture the emotion like the manga did especially moments like kaneki eating himself or 'I didn't want to die' moment . I think sui Ishida creates these small moments and makes it a thousand times beautiful or impactful with his art (not even berserk had invoked that emotion of fear of death in me). I am new to your content , and I am really enjoying ur videos . I also like to do theorising and symbolism (subjective)in these beautiful stories . I hope one day you will achieve success u desire.

One of the many issues I have with the anime is how rushed it was- so many arcs were skipped and so many characters never got a proper backstory, simply because there wasn’t enough time. I wish they would have taken their time with it instead of trying to condense the story into three seasons. It definitely deserved at least four, and I feel it would have been more popular had they taken that route. It’s just so disappointing to see how such an incredible story like Tokyo Ghoul’s was completely lost, focusing more on the battle and fighting scenes than the actual story. I really hope it gets a reboot and is finally done justice.

you're exaggerating things abit. the first season's adaptation does grasp some of the manga's feelings and it's 1st and especially the 2nd opening are great It's certainly isnt the ideal adaptation but the staff behind it are passionate and were screwed over by the producers. The director of the anime, Shuhei Morita did an AMA on reddit regarding Tokyo Ghoul. It's an interesting read. Go look it up

I have only seen the first season of the anime, and though I've heard the manga is better even when compares to what people say is the strongest part of the anime adaptation, I really enjoyed it. I stopped watching though because I heard the consecutive seasons are not great and it's been memed to hell. The thing is the more art I see from the manga, and based on what I know of the story so far, it makes so freakin sad that many people are only exposed to this through memes and making fun of the shit anime adaptation. What makes it worse, as a musician and someone who has a strong appreciation for music, so the anime has an absolutely amazing OST. So much talent and passion that wont be appreciated because of the anime. Seriously I wish people would not make adaptations of any kind unless they are going to at least respect the source material. I'm not asking for a one to one retelling in every case, but please just respect the source material, that is all! Also we need more human stories like that address violence and hate as it is such a problem in real life. There aren't very many examples unfortunately, but my favorite heroes are not the all powerful super heros who around fighting an killing "evil" bad guys. My favorite are those who understand the complexity and beauty behind life and a good story should explore that.
