I remember reading (in lowrider magazine) that there are more 58 impalas in Japan than there are left in the USA. As someone who grew up in the SoCal lowrider scene I love the level of dedication they have to these things it's awesome

American Graffiti, Vanishing point, The 70s gone in sixty seconds, Dirty Mary/ Crazy Larry, Hot Rod, Bullit, Return to Macon county... I could go on and on. My dad was huge into muscle cars and drove the 56 Chevy he bought as a teenager until the month he passed away. She's safe in my garage. Right next to my Ae86.

I can't even imagine how expensive a Cuda must be in Japan. The prices are insane in the US, for an import of a classic car there they have to be pushing 6 figures for something decent

@@chromedome745 If a car from the US is brought over to Canada it's still considered an import.
@chromedome745
@chromedome745 5 жыл бұрын
@@TimothyJavier i mean they sold American muscle cars in Canada from dealerships so alot of these are not classed as imports as they were sold on the Canadian domestic market, if you buy a car that was never sold in Canada and then imported it you own an import (basically most cars in most countries are imports but when people talk about imports like this they mean it was never sold in that country) makes it rarer and special and someone really wanted it to go out of their way to import it, like the Japanese guys that own muscle cars from the 60s that where never even sold in japan to start with
@TimothyJavier
@TimothyJavier 5 жыл бұрын
@@chromedome745 Does that mean if I buy a USDM 370Z from a Nissan dealership in the US it's not considered an import even though it was made in a factory in Japan?

Howdy Noriyaro, my name is Kenichi Smith. I'm a 27 year old Japanese Toonaholic (Cartoon fan for you foreigners). I draw cartoons and comics on my tablet, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior American games. (Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty) I train with my 1911 every day, this superior weapon can shoot straight through steel because it kicks ass, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my gun license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day. I speak English fluently, both the Midwestern and the East Coast accents, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about American history and their Constitution, which I follow 100% When I get my American visa, I am moving to New York to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an animator for Nickelodeon or a game designer! I own several cowboy outfits, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to America, so I can fit in easier. I keep cool to my elders and seniors and speak English as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

I think you should invest in a gimbal stabilizer as you do alot of walk and talk, with sharpe camera movements I find I get slight nausea from this. Also this will improve your production quality and really lift your game as a KZbinr. Something to think about anyway...

Japan has more cool American cars than America does. Or at least unique

We certainly have some cars like them over here, but you find one or two each local car show. There in Japan it's easier to see that if youre dedicated enough to import something like them you'd want to go all-out

Besides, for Americans "its just another old chevy", when for people outside of US those cars are something they rarely see if at all.

Because they take good care of them, they don't treat them like scrap metal.

I live in SoCal. The classic car meets and shows here are unrivaled. Still, it's really cool to see the Japanese scene. Much better than I would have expected.

Dude, I think this was by far the most "interesting" video you've done. This was an awesome treat seeing all of our domestics over there. Including that DSM Eclipse. Keep up the good work man! I think it would be really cool if you went to an exclusively lowriders show. I mean, there are quite a few instagram guys covering the scene but it would be cool to get your take on it.

This was a nice change of pace. Loved it! Please visit the lowrider event. I think it's safe to say a lot of people here just love cars and would love to see all these different types.

I met that guy who showed you his modified Hiace back in January in Japan. He owns DMC paint and kustoms in Chiba, actually on the same road Top Secret is located on. He showed me around his workshop, his customer cars and his drag build he was working on. If I remember it was an old 50s or 60s mazda with a cappuccino engine in it. Really nice friendly guy, and sums up the hospitality in Japan for people traveling just to witness the car culture. Looking forward to re visiting his shop again in January.

Probably because they're more special in Japan, whereas they're all fairly 'normal' to see in America.
