We have booked one of the apartments at Hundred Stay Tokyo Shinjuku for a few days next month. Booked about 6 months ago and got it for a great price. I chose it for the combination of the view, the self contained apartment for the family, as well as it being so close to both Shin-Okubo station for the Yamamoto loop and Okubo Station for the Chuo Line. We’ll be back, so it’s great to see these options to look into for future bookings. Thank you! 🌸

Ooh good choice - you'll have to let me know how it is! Tag me in a pic of the view! The Chuo line's so useful as well for getting across the city quickly - I think a lot of people miss it because it's not very obvious on the metro map.

Thanks for the video. It was very informative. I wish more hotel reviewers would mention the red light district for those of us traveling with our kids. Kabuchiko (sp?) is the red light district in Shinjuku and most sites and videos just mention that it's the best place for first timers without considering that some of us may want to go out at night and not be in a red light district.
@cakeswithfaces8 ай бұрын
Glad it's useful! I've enjoyed staying in Kabukicho many times, and it's not necessarily an unsafe place as many blogs and videos say; however as a family I can see why you might not want to stay there. The Park Hotel in Shiodome is brilliant. Great location right next to Shiodome Station on the Oedo and Yurikamome lines and short walk to Shimbashi for Asakusa and Ginza lines. From where Tokyo is your Oyster. My room overlooked the Channel 4 building with great views of the Shinkansen at low speed between Tokyo Station and Shinagawa. Saw Dr Yellow many times too. The nighttime view was that 'Bladerunner' view I dreamt of with Neon, Bullet Trains and slowly blinking aircraft warning lights as far as the eye could see. Beautiful view of Tokyo Tower from the reception and only a minutes walk to the The Giant Ghibli Clock. My other favorite hotel is the Richmond Hotel Asakusa with 'Precious Skytree view' and view across Sensoji Temple, but be aware some 'Skytree view' rooms only allow you to see the skytree if you crane your neck out the window. I POLITELY queried this at reception as I had specifically requested that Sensoji view and I was moved with zero fuss. Many a night spent drifting off to sleep with the hypnotic sweeping lights of the skytree and waking to the gong at 6am from Sensoji Temple. The staff there at the time 2018 and 2019 were adorable! Writing this is making me 'homesick' for Tokyo. Can't wait to get back!!!! Thanks Amy! 🙂

The Grand Arc Hanzomon has great views over the Imperial Palace and you can see Tokyo Tower off in the distance too. Hanzomon is a quieter neighborhood, but the station (Hanzomon on the Hanzomon line) has direct connection to both Shibuya and Oshiage (for Tokyo Skytree) and Jimbocho. This is a fantastic location if you like to jog. It is very popular to jog around the Imperial Palace moat, as it's roughly a 5k. I'd say be careful with the room size as many of the hotels I've stayed in would be very cramped for a family (although they are just double rooms). The Hundred Stay Tokyo Shinjuku in this video looks good, with more spacious rooms and family rooms. Mimaru hotels and Citadines also have rooms with a bit more space (some of them have mini kitchenettes and washing machines too). Or look for aparthotels (like hotels but with mini apartments as rooms) - you can search for them on Expedia here: www.expedia.co.uk/Japan-Apart-Hotels.d89-aaApartHotels.Travel-Guide-Accommodation Also I found a really useful blog the other day with lots of advice for going to Japan with kids: www.thetokyochapter.com/ Hope that helps!
