im watching the old version alongside the new version, since I never watched the old version. It makes me wonder why they dropped the transformation medallions... but I guess the transformation could just come from the DNA.

The medallions had no part in the transformation process in the manga, they were simply decoration. In the manga they have the power to transform all the time since they've been injected with the DNA, and the mark shows where the injection happened, that's all.

Great review! I wasn't a fan of the new outfit designs but honestly I've warmed up to them. Now lets see if this series holds up as well as the original 😝

I liked Pudding's old hairstyle more than this new one. Those tuft things on top of her head are so ugly and jarring when combined with her braids, they really don't do her any justice. I get that the designer was trying to give her a youthful look, but it's honestly way too cluttered.

"The designer" was the original manga artist who has since passed away. You don't have to love them but at least respect one of her final decisions for her characters please.

Lettuce and Nao from smile precure have the same last name and I now realized that, that's because of the word midori which means green (you said it in your green precure video too)
