I'm so glad you joined Fully Charged Jonny. You've been nothing short of fantastic since the beginning. It's also freed up Robert to explore all sorts of subjects related to Renewable Energy without feeling the need to constantly do EV reviews which you are far more versed in. The channel just keeps getting better! I'm envious of the trip to Tokyo, Japan is one of my favourite countries.

I absolutely love the episodes with Jonny Smith. Bringing him on is probably the best move Robert has done for Fully Charged. :-) His look to the camera, when walking by the Japanese men in VR was GOLD. So much said without words.

Agree. Jonny loves all types of cars but is naturally excited about EV future. Previously with Robert he knew nothing about cars and then (for the sake of the channel) pretended to be a car expert, that really annoyed me so I'm glad he got Jonny onboard. Other youtube channels that have hipster EV car 'experts' that talk trash anything not EV give me the shits.

Something I have noticed with EV's is that the technology is allowing the designers to be more creative with packaging.

Richard Collins Certainly! They no longer have to worry about a large spot to put the engine. For rwd vehicles the no longer have the large transmission taking up the center console area. It’s like building a car on a piece of plywood with a wheel in each corner!

@morosis82
@morosis82 6 жыл бұрын
I've been sort of off the car interest bandwagon for a while also, but EV's have got me back into it. I think it's because there are now some genuinely novel ideas wandering around in the flesh, and EV makes some of them really possible, dare I say it productionable.
@krusher74
@krusher74 5 жыл бұрын
I would say it's because petrol/diesel cars have always been a compromise of design built around a power train. EV allow the design to be about a mode of transport first. Its a shame that public perception will probably shape them into something boring. For example all teslas look like you could find an engine in them.

Jonny when chatting with Robert in the news update should talk more about Autonomy (autonomous). With V2X (vehicle to anything) do you know of any good sources that discuss how autonomous vehicles will affect miles driven thus congestion? Thanks for occasionally being in the comments. I like how you able to pull off all the travel to be able to see these concept cars. I appreciate the impact this channel has on the environment.

I think the fact that all 5 videos were set to release at exactly the same time is what's caused the subscription issue, if you'd staggered them and hour apart or something that may well have work just fine. That said I'm subscribed to other channels that mass-release videos and I'm not aware of seeing the same issue.

Love that Suzuki 'RockCrawler' as Jonny calls it. Motor in wheel transmission has to be the way forward it seems so logical. Michelin were developing a system many years ago (around 2005 I think) I wonder if it is this they are using for this latter day SJ410.
