On Today's episode of Tokyo Rides, we are riding the Triumph Speed Triple on the expressway into Ebisu for a cup of coffee at a fabulous shop called Sarathiko. Besides the usual cheeky chat, we spot a d-bag in a slick Ferrari 599 GTB texting while driving the Expressway. I guess it's OK when you are in a Ferrari? I see it all the time here in Tokyo and it infuriates me. It's actually NOT illegal to have a television monitor in the dash of a car in Japan. I see that all the time too! People watching variety shows as they're cruising down the road. Hop On! If you dare...

Thanks for watching! I’m happy to hear y’all are enjoying these rides! Just an FYI the coffee shop scene was filmed before the pandemic began, hence why there were people sitting inside the shop including me! Now it’s takeout only. 😷

In 1886, three brothers - Robert Wood Johnson, James Wood Johnson and Edward Mead Johnson - began the company, Johnson & Johnson, in New Brunswick, New Jersey in the United States. It’s said that the Johnson brothers were inspired to start the business in order to create a line of ready-to-use surgical dressings, after hearing a speech by antiseptic advocate Joseph Lister, in 1885. Robert Wood Johnson served as the first president - the company became incorporated in 1887 and throughout the nineteenth century, Robert worked to improve sanitation practices.

I have been riding since the late 80s. I stopped for a while in the 2000 and then started riding again about 4 years ago. In the intervening time riding has become so much more dangerous; bad roads and heavier traffic, but number one biggest danger is distracted drivers with phones and GPSs. Drives me insane. I have some close calls in past few years and almost every one involved a driver playing with a phone. On another note, seeing you going into a crowded coffee shop is nerve racking.
