I see not much if anything has changed since I was there last in 2011. I found it by accident after coming out of that tunnel from Kabukicho side of the tracks. I was hounded by some very aggressive massagi girls that just weren’t taking no for an answer. (I got it on video and it’s my most viewed video on my channel BTW.) Anyway, that place has the greatest vibe and atmosphere I’ve experienced anywhere. Very White dragon/Bladerunner vibes. I made a few Vines that I was proud of there as well. I’m very pleased at the idea that I was able to capture some of the magic of that alley for others to experience too. Another thing I see that is still the same is the annoyance of the diners staff at being recorded. Some were giving me the stink eye as well at the time. I expected that more from the patrons who would just want to dine and enjoy their food and friends in peace and would have figured the workers would have gotten used to it by now. It seems like it’s a resistance to the change of the times where more and more non residents are coming in and taking from the micro climate /environment that is their sanctuary and home. It seems a very fine balance between homeostasis and commerce. Great place though. I can’t wait for the day I can go back to Omoide Yokocho for some beers and gyoza!

How do people sit at those counters where there isn't room behind them for other customers to enter or leave? I couldn't relax like this. I would be in constant fear of customers coming or finishing their meal, while I'm still eating. Whenever I eat or drink in a public place I make sure that it's a place where me and also other customers can easily sit down or leave their place, without the need for everybody else to stand up or make way.
