As an avid hobby chef and general fan of cooking and kitchenware, a trip to Kappabashi street this year was an absolute must 😄

Great stream John. I enjoyed my visit to Kappabashi when I was there last month. Bought myself a chef’s knife and some primo nail clippers. Would love to visit again.

Awesome video. I was in Tokyo in September (stayed in Ryogoku) and when i visited the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno I walked to the small Kappa temple in Kappabashi. It was a very nice walk.

I've been to Kappabashi and believe me, had there been more room in my luggage I would have bought everything just for myself. 🤣 such a fun shopping trip. Also, love the golden hour in Tokyo, that light on the cityscape looks glorious.

The cookie cutter tower store is AMAZING! They have so much baking stuff and silicone molds that you don't see in the US. Certain shops, you can find japanese branding irons (yakiin) that I love to buy and super unique thing to bring back from Japan.

The kitchen knife shops here are great too. It’s a good walk from Ueno to Asakusa, Kappabashi is nicely situated in between. The is also a Aussie trained Coffee shop named Up to You Coffee

I've seen that your community tab can be very broken for the youtube algorithm. especially posting polls on them seems to work great. Maybe an idea to test what it does for you? like idk put up a poll asking your viewers where in Tokyo to go for a next live stream. or what kind of subject they wanna hear more about and stuff like that. The idea is that people like to answer a question when it's prompted to them. A survey is too long, but just a single question. many people like to give their opinion and many people give an answer out of curiosity just to see what the results are. The fun thing is that youtube sees every view as an interaction with your channel and every vote counts as a comment. the algorithm really likes these community interaction and will boost up your visibility. =)

Hi John, I wonder if there is any connection between Niimi the shop, and the town of Niimi in Okayama-ken. Do you know? I used to hang out there a bit as a friend used to live there.

Not sure - it could just be a family name, maybe the family is from there? Good question!
