Our #DelaCruzFamilyAdventures continues with an unforgettable journey through Tokyo from January 19-24, 2024! This trip was packed with family reunions, shopping sprees, magical experiences, and even our first time seeing snow!
Day 1:
After arriving in Tokyo on a night bus (VIP Liner) from Osaka, we grabbed breakfast at McDonald’s Asakusa before exploring Sumida River and Sensoji Temple. Later, we reunited with my sister, niece, and her husband. Together, we headed to Shibuya to see Hachiko Memorial Statue and experience Shibuya Scramble Crossing. We ended the day shopping at Don Quijote Shibuya before checking into our accommodation, Hostel Inn Tokyo Ryogoku.
Day 2:
We met up with my niece and her husband in Kichijoji for a fun shopping spree-found some incredible winter jackets that were just perfect for the season!
Day 3:
A magical day at Tokyo Disneyland! We enjoyed the rides, parades, and Disney magic the whole day. It was truly a dream come true for the whole family. 🎢✨
Day 4:
We rode the Shinkansen (bullet train) for a day trip to Yuzawa, Niigata, to experience snow for the first time. From snowball fights to incredible winter scenery, it was a day full of wonder and joy! ❄️⛄
Day 5:
A shopping day in Asakusa! We walked 1.8 km to Don Quijote Asakusa to grab more souvenirs and extra luggage for all the goodies we found. Then we walked another 1.5 km to Tokyo Skytree, where we enjoyed breathtaking city views from the top.
Day 6:
On our last day, we made a quick trip to Naritasan Omotesando, a charming street near Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, lined with traditional wooden buildings, souvenir shops, and restaurants. We strolled along this picturesque street, soaking in its old-Japan vibe, before enjoying a delicious lunch at a Chinese restaurant. This was the perfect way to wrap up our Tokyo adventure before heading back to the Philippines from Narita International Airport Terminal 2.
