Tuna market is very similar to crab market, just 3 barrels to needed to auction instead of 2

well if you're short on shelf space, this box is a about 1/8th the size if not even smaller size than container's bigbox version. especially if you consider the expansion box included .

Loved the critical discussion of the game at the end. I was engrossed throughout the game, but it was kinda crappy that the game could be 'king-made' in the last round. I think hidden money would make a big difference with math-y players.

Thanks for watching, the modular market setup will drastically change what's possible in the game and everything is circumstantial. Only the Auction market really throws this element into play, and it was up to a player to throw their own game to help another player. In other markets in the game such as Eels, you take on the risk of volatility by engaging with them, there are always safer options to choose from.

maybe it is a stupid question... but right in the first round - mike/ bottom left player - he enters the salmon market and fishes afterwards and then it is greg's turn. Yet in the teaching round you said that, the salmon market costs 400 Yen but no action, so shouldn't mike have been able to play a "3rd" action after the fishing one? Or am i missing something?

Hi! I would like to know what happens if in the external market Auction all players make a bid of 0 yen (which is allowed in the regulation)

During the turn when Mike bought the squid did one of the cart actions go to waste? He had an action, he bought the cart and then threw away the whole cart to power the squid market, but that was 3 actions used on the squid market.

Playing with closed money is a suggested ioption in the rulebook. Might fix the "Mathing out" discussed at the end.

@2:32:58 Ariel buys a squid license without paying for it, and then he buys a boat for which he has not enough money because of this, and Mike didn't get 100 for Ariel entering the Squid market

Even if you're losing your goal in this kind of game should be to maximize your score. I really frown upon actions like the one Greg made and I wouldn't enjoy playing with him.

Doing the math, I am pretty sure Edwards bid should have been 1400, though that took a bit of math...

A bid of 1600 is required for securing first place for Edward against Mike, but it puts Edward and Ariel both at 6400, so it should have been a draw.

Actually, 1500 is enough, because if Mike would bid 1600, he would get in front of Edward, but it gets him second place behind Ariel. So with a bid of 1500, Edward wins (if nobody does any kingmaking). With a bid of 1400, Mike should go 1500, which gets him first place (tied with Ariel). In any case, it seems like that final turn subsidized auction can be very swingy.
