Tokyo Xtreme Racer On A Handheld Is A DREAM! Is it really worth it?

I got a ROG ally Z1 Extreme a few weeks ago since they only cost $350 brand new with carrying case here in switzerland. Never been this happy / excited for a handheld since the PSP! Game runs great, 60FPS on medium settings with 15w TDP.

Yep the first one was Tokyo highway battle. Then Tokyo xtreme racer 1 and 2 on Dreamcast. Look up all the games by genki. You’ll find some gems 💎 on that list 10000% worth checking out if your a fan of them

Fantastic Game. Fantastic Series. Longtime player since 99 on the DC. Couldn't be happier with this release. Can't wait to see what they bring to the full product. If you have any interest in racing games, old school games, or just something different. This is a safe purchase.

I had it many months ago. Fixed in three seconds. I made a video on it. Btw skip the step about removing the triggers. Oh also once u apply the lube it’s gone forever it seems. There was literally no lube on the ones I’ve seen so far. Everyone who used my fix says it’s been perfect and made them feel better. Oh I also have a trigger wobble fix video coming soon too

Hey I’m glad you asked. I wondered the same thing. Went down the rabbit hole on this. There’s one option I found that works but maybe a small step. You can manually copy the save file to a usb drive and manually replace it each time or set the save file to upload to one drive or a cloud service and sync for you with the newest version. The folder path you can find by enabling hidden system folders in folders options in windows. Then look under c:/users/your user name/app data/ local/Tokyo extreme racer/saved/savegames The file name is userdata_00.sav Basically I just copy the save games folder entirely though and replace it when I go between my ally x and desktop. A pain yes but I don’t think we have a better way as of yet until they enable cloud save as an option. I’ll make a video about it actually or mention it in the next one.

Nah I’ve played every single drifting game pretty much ever lol. 😂 d1 gran prix, txr drift, initial d, you name it. I’ve played it on emulators upscaled. Even all the wangan midnights and more. The graphics on this are way better, more modern cars, vr support, racing sim support and more. The older retro jdm car games all are nice but this is a whole new ball game. Also just early access so a tonnnnnn more will be added along the way Before this dropped I went back through most of all of them and re beat them. Right before this I just beat import tuner challange on xenia

I do not expect a new model this year at all actually. I haven’t heard any rumors of any this year either to be honest …. I’m fairly confident we won’t see anything esp since nothing was even shown at ces and nothings been leaked or rumored either with any credible sources. They are likely waiting for a larger generational leap is what I’d be willing to bet. I used an f1 pro with the ryzen ai 9 / Radeon 890m chipset and honestly it’s like 5-10fps more than the ally x on black ops for example. If they held out for another generation I think that would be the smartest move for sure. Only time will tell. When news of a new one drops I’ll share it for sure and I’ll make sure to get my hands on one.

You still have to use a 3d printer and clear transparent Petg filament. No one has made any yet or plans to that I’m aware of.
