Tokyo Creative I’m moving to Japan this fall and am thinking of starting in a sharehouse for the first six months or so. It’s just so much cheaper and I want to meet people! And then I can have more time to find a good apartment without feeling rushed too

Hi guy's I think I would share to start with and then get an apartment. So excited my husband just told me I can book my trip to Tokyo. Got lot's of planning to do. 🤗😍💖💖📸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sharehouse for sure, because there is always at least 1 person awake and alert 24/7, no missed deliveries, no fires, and there is always some back-up when someone tries to break in. OH WAIT this is Tokyo not Toronto LOL!!!

Hey, I was wondering if you have heard of any cases where shoes have been stolen from sharehouses? Does it ever happen? I'm paranoid because some of my shoes are quite valuable, so not sure if I'd want to stay in a sharehouse. I may need to carry my shoes into my room

omg @ 9.48, those cheese packet earrings !!! it's the german supermarket real's brand (yes, the supermarket chain is called "real;" ..) ! we actually usually buy 'Bergkäse' (=mountain cheese). Natasha, *where* did you get those earrings ??! edit: when the plant's soil is very dry the water just goes through . you'll have to water a little bit often until the soil gets more moist & then try to keep it that way but careful the soil doesn't get too wet. (it's a struggle .. :) )

I stayed in a shared house (Sakura house company or something like that). It was quite good because I was only there a month and the owner was a nice lady who used to treat us like friends and we'd go out to karaoke and get home cooked meals, and also it was near Asakusa which was good for visiting. Long term though would def want my own place.

As long as I have my own room, I don’t think I’d mind a share house. When i was at art school, i lived in the dorms and it was nice enough. I think the only thing I’d hate is noise from other ppl, so it really would come down to luck of the draw with the ppl I’d live with. Cute room though Natasha! Really adore your closet and your style. I have an open closet as well, but it’s nowhere near as aesthetic as yours!

sharehouses should probably have a theme attached to them, so you end up living with people with similar interests or jobs, so you aren't just strangers living in the same house, avoiding each other.

Awesome place Natasha... must be hard to keep it well organized and clean like that! xD I'm looking at my own apartment with tons of stuff laying around because it's going through a half year organization process... :P If I moved to Japan, it'd be either my own apartment or my own house, probably between 1 to 2 hours away from Tokyo. Doesn't need to be big, but I do need everything (bath, restroom, kitchen, etc) to use on my own. Because I'm selfish and anti-social. Also, lots of light with an open setting, super important. If I'm dreaming anyways, let's make it ideal. My apartment doesn't get direct sunlight except for a tiny service area where I put the clothes to dry... but this is actually kind of a blessing. It has an unecessarily huge balcony area that eats away from the apartment total space... but I like it this way. Probably because I grew up in a house. I can put a hammock there and laze around. I still have plans of putting some plants out. The only huge problem I have with my current apartment is that when I got it, it had a pretty unobstructed view... it's downtown, so the view was of a shopping mall, but I'm still higher up so a good outlook of the city. But then, couple of months after I moved the parking space got bought out and they started construction for a building. It's still like some 30 to 50 meters away from my own, so it's not horrible, but also not great. Blocked the view, huge building, tiny apartments with corner balconies with a straight view to my balcony. Oh well.

I had a “shared house” in New Orleans. I had 5 roommates and they were all Korean (college students and grad students) and i basically never saw any of them. It was very lonely! I keep to myself a lot, too, but I definitely understand why she wants to get her own space.
