When I was there in February, I found a plain chicken onigiri. I was so excited because I do not like nori and I want to eat onigiri so it is difficult to find ones not wrapped with seaweed. But those little round ones are sooo good. The chicken is very simple but tasty. You should try it!

Yay! Sarah and Emma together again! My go-to onigiri were usually the mentaiko-mayo (I think I've been mentioning mentaiko a lot lately) and the miso flavors. Tuna-may was also pretty decent. I guess the addition of mayo helps, because I didn't care for the plain tuna onigiri as much. For a savory snack, I loved the pizza-flavored potato chips. And for sweet, there was this old-fashioned glazed donut that was stick-shaped with a twist about halfway. I think that was from Lawson. Another summer favorite was the chocomint ice cream bar. I liked trying all the unsweetened teas, as well. I seem to remember Soukembicha was a favorite (not sure of spelling, it's been a while), and there was this lovely English milk tea I would get occasionally.

Now I got really curious about the citrus chips, I don't think I've ever had chips with any citrus flavor and don't even recall seeing any in the chips section of the local store. I usually just buy the more basic, salted chips, but after both of you picked citrus flavored chips I'm kind of feeling the urge to go look through the chips sections of all the local stores to see what I can find :)

I love those steam eye masks! My eyes get itchy from my allergies and eye masks here don't usually cover your eyes (they're usually under eye instead). I found one of them at some Japanese store I went to and tried it and really liked it! I like that they just use steam and not chemicals like a lot of Korean face masks do. I've used them at home and when traveling. Recently I bought a whole box of them off of Amazon (not the specific brand Sarah showed, though I did recognize it) because one of my eyes had gotten puffy from my CPAP mask blowing air into my eyes. I've also tried those chocolate covered almonds. Most candy packaged that way has an "adult" vibe, I feel. (Sometimes they're even marketed that way, like the "otona" Oreos I bought one time that were basically just like regular Oreos, except they were sugar wafer-type cookies rather than sandwich cookies). When I bought them I didn't expect them to be actual almonds wrapped in chocolate for some reason. They were quite good though! I don't eat almonds much, but I really like the Hershey bars with almonds in them, and this kind of reminded me of that.

IIRC, Sharmeleon recommended the convienence store zaru soba/udon in one of her videos, too. I was looking forward to trying it when I eventually go to Japan, but that won't be happening now that I know it's only available in the summer since I'm planning on visiting later in the fall. Oh well, at least I'll still be able to get warm soup-style noodles. That'll probably be more practical for the colder seasons anyways. I also want to try different kinds of onigiri, especially the ginger flavored one Emma tried in the "trying every onigiri" video she did with Abroad in Japan a while back. Edit: changed the noodle from ramen to soba/udon because I my memory is atrocious, apparently.

I try to avoid buying at convenience stores as much as possible. I always try to buy at normal supermarkets. It is much cheaper and better at supermarkets. And there is much more variety also. Most supermarkets have their own kitchen so they make the 弁当 (bentō) on the spot. The 弁当 sold at convenience stores are made at factories at night and need to be transported to the stores. So they probably add preservatives and other chemicals so the 弁当 don't spoil. So the 弁当 is not as fresh or healthy as the ones from supermarkets. And most supermarkets sell at discount after 6pm. So you can buy a large 弁当 for 300, even 200 yens.

from an aussie guy watching 2 aussie girls on a japanese channel - i for the life of me dont understand why so many channels translate and put the price in USD? at least TC put both JPY and USD, but when channels do just USD it is near impossible to figure out prices. id have to see the exchange rate between USD and AUD at the time of the video lol iv looked at tourists stats by countries in to japan and all i can think of is your channel stats and pretty much all japanese channels must overwhelmingly have US viewers? - which is not always consistent with the folk in the comments. im just curious...maybe a lil excessively :P
