Even though the second apartment has a somewhat outdated vibe, I find it very appealing due to its layout, the size of the living space, and the view. I'd say, "I'll take it." But the third apartment... despite being a bit more expensive, having less square footage, and requiring the windows in the lower bedroom to be at least partially covered with frosted film for privacy, it really gives you something to think about. The two outdoor spaces are amazing. And if it would be possible to add a mezzanine in the room with the incredibly high ceiling...
@dereksbooks2 ай бұрын
The second place would be perfect if the wall separating the kitchen and the bedroom hall were knocked down, and the bathroom were upgraded.
@Brian-jv8iy2 ай бұрын
don't really see a point in covering any windows there, would be possible to add another lofted space, or just expanded story, but that would defeat the design of the apartment and it would not be nice anymore. A mezzanine would be too low.

The third one was incredible. I loved the mix of indoor and outdoor space. I always found a full backyard so wasteful, but most patios rather small. This feels like the perfect middle ground. You can always add blinds if wanted too, otherwise the natural sunlight is a great addition to the property.

Just imagine coming home, settling on the sofa and look out the window to see that view. I'd instantly unwind and love the fact that I'd live in such a gorgeous city.

Second is my favourite. It has bar table, large bedrooms with good closets, view and even garbage shreder. Never heard of microwave + GAS oven combo. Sounds crazy to not just make it all electric. I really love first balcony with planter in third appartment, but the rest of it, not so much. I do actually like my privacy. Fist had terrible bathroom - nice toilet, but cleaning behind sink is pain and cleaning behind bath tub? NOPE! Also showering with closed curtains seems like terrible idea and then to dry it out… Would like to see something in South Edogawa. Really liked my month stay there 2 years ago.

I'm amazed at how weird the layouts are, especially for the price. The first one is big enough to be a proper family apartment, yet was made into a studio with a whole bunch of empty space. The second one is massive, yet only has 2 bedrooms and a living room. I've seen apartments half that size that were more useable. The last one is quite unique with the open room upstairs and the massive windows, so I can at least somehow understand it, it leaned into the weird layout. They are very big apartments, yet look barely more comfortable than a 60 m^2 one.

Induction stoves are great for warm climates. Rather than having a heating element, giving off heat, and another object trying to pick up that heat, the object is being heated by a coil under the glass. It's similar to how wireless charging works on phones. A traditional stove lets over 50% of the heat out the sides as you cook food. That heats up the whole room a lot. Limiting it to just the object the food is in reduces ambient heat by a significant amount.

My husband and I always love watching a new video and dreaming about moving our family to Japan, but we dont often see family homes or ones with more than two bedrooms. Are three and four bedroom homes just unheard of and ridiculously hard to find in Japan? If so, I challenge you to find them for your next video.😅

There's not that many 3+ bed apartments in Tokyo. It's something like 20% of the total
@smartmouthredhead83922 ай бұрын
@TokyoPortfolio Wow, okay. Does that mean that people with 3+ kids would have to search for larger homes in more rural areas outside of Tokyo? 🤔 Or is it the same kind of situation there as well?

Most people with a family (and money) just buy land and build a house through a “house maker”. They will also likely choose somewhere slightly more west of Tokyo rather than the most expensive stations shown in these videos (can find many land options with a 20-40 minute commute to one of Tokyo’s major stations). Can get a brand new house as nice (or nicer) as what’s shown on this channel, but larger, in the $500k-$800k range.
