The rocks are on the roofs to stop the thatch from being blown off in high winds. The thatch needs to go over the spine, but it's going to be pretty loose right there, so needs something to make sure it stays in place and doesn't leak when it rains. Good to see you back! And there's some pretty nice features added to the game.

No. You will be able to send troops off screen to battles and some might perish, but that is the extent of the violence. This is intended to be a peaceful game.
