Bounce lands are so wonderful for casual edh decks! The extra land in hand is great of course, especially on the mulligan decision, but there's plenty more. In my Sidisi Brood tyrant dredge deck I use all three available to pick up cycling lands, reset vivid lands, pick up extra lands to loot away, fuel spellshapers and even help me discard a dredger to handsize in a pinch. A Derevi token build if mine untaps bounce lands several times during combat to activate instant token makers and cast humongous x-spells. Also reset a hide-away lands. I built this deck a few weeks ago and it is a blast to play. Something worth noting is that once people wise up to what the deck does, Avenger of Zendikar, Rampaging Baloths, Nesting Dragon and so many other spells can be alternate wincons if your commanders are killed. The deck doesn't really become very degenerate unless BOTH Toggo and Kodama are out--it can be a bit telegraphed--which is nice IMO. Ppl hate being infinited out of nowhere.

You can do this with Sakashima as your other partner too, I make him a copy of kodama, this lets you play simic which gives you things like Tatyova for card draw and life, ruin crab to mill you opponents, or Thrasios to draw your whole deck too. You can use the soratami creatures and meloku from kamigawa which all have abilities that let you return lands to your hand as pet of ability activations, so if you have a way to make a single land tap for 2 it means you can do this combo with any land.

Is it because you're "putting" the bounce land into play after the Kodama "equal to" trigger after the rock trigger, not "playing" the land? So the first time you play it to start the chain going, that counts as your land for turn, and every other time is just a reaction to Kodama / Togga / rock triggers?
