I actually didn't realize that was Kibler at first. Having last seen him back in Hearthstone times, back when he was smooth shaved and sporting short hair, so first five minutes of video I spent in this weird land of "this looks odd... he doesn't look like Kyle but who is that man? Or has he changed since last time?" Only to then hear Kibler's voice proper once it came to him presenting his deck, going "Ohhhhhhhhhh"

Idk how often it gets mentioned, but I just wanted to say how much I REALLY like your minimalist animations. The simple "wood" dice cup style bordered character portraits and muted impact sound when they take damage, the simple chevron arrows to indicate attacking, etc. Edit: I was not expecting Olivia's "Hey, Listen" reference, but that was gold.

When the burnished heart was flung It reminded me of a family story of my grandfather angrily throwing playing cards and a summer spent playing cards with an incomplete deck before finding the missing card under the refrigerator.

its always so lovely having fun goofy memories of familytime like that, I remember when I was a kid i used to play cards a ton with my grandparents and cousins and one time when i was still learning to shuffle i messed it up and dropped the cards everywhere, at the time I was also unable to say shuffle, i would say shuvvle and because of that my grandparents playfully teased me about it later by reminding me to shuffle the cards not shuvvle them as they didn't want to have to find them all again and that became my favourite running in joke with my family. It became almost a game amongst me and my cousins where we would ask our grandma "is it my turn to shuvvle?" or something to that effect and hope she didnt hear us swap the words and if she didnt notice and agreed/gave us permission, we would gleefully throw the entire deck of cards on the floor.

So, at 40:59 this moment is made slightly funnier because even Gavin doesn't get the rule right, he lists the ruling for *Fear* not intimidate. Intimidate means you can't be blocked except by creatures that *share a color* with the attacker, or artifact creatures. The artifact creature stipulation is still there, so this inaccuracy didn't impact the game, just adds to the comedy of people who love magic and have been playing it for a long time, stumbling over this one ability. Love you prof, your content is great! I just find this little nugget so funny.

I have really enjoyed the Professor’s comments and overall outlook on MTG etiquette. This is just a game that is meant to be fun where all opponents try their best to win. That being said I think the way Olivia acted during this video was purely for comedy and not actual frustration or bad sportsmanship. But….. she seemed a little mad throughout. I have had problems with friends taking games too seriously to the point where the emotions got in the way of everything else. Olivia scooping in frustration and then acting like she wouldn’t shake hands with the Professor at the end is just a bad example for MTG players out there.

I gotta say, Olivia Gobert-Hicks was super negative in this video. I love Shuffle-up and Play and when I saw the guest list I was excited. However, as the game progressed, Olivia increasingly behaved in a sour manner. I’m sure it’s just me, I feel this episode had so much potential! Proff, I still love ya and I’ll support Yoi and your content anyday!
