Guys, it's actually much cheaper then I stated in video for these canned heats, it had been awhile since I bought some so I forgot price. I recommend these ones I used in video as even for only buying 12 at once it's like $2 per canned heat. Should be cheaper if you buy more at once. Here's link amzn.to/4brNORq

I just returned from a 5 day. Winter camp out in the arrowhead region in northern Minnesota . I have a 5 / 8 homemade insulated camper. That I pull behind my Jeep. I use a small electric heater for overnight and put a 25 foot cord on my generator and move it away from the camper. I burn under a gallon of gas for 8 hour overnight. This keeps me cozy warm and 100% safe without danger of carbon monoxide. Cost about $3 per night for that energy. Thanks for your video and let's keep on camping 😊

Hey friend, use that snuffer. I experiment with different ways to heat the space around where I use my computer here in my house located in southern MN. I tried a Dollar Store can of heet some days ago. The length of time before it started to smell bad was minimal. When I decided to put it out, I used the can's cover and pushed it down with a screw driver. A few seconds later, I jumped at the sound of an explosion. The top had blown off! Better a little bad smell than an explosion:) Also, probably best not to depend on Dollar Store Heet cans:)
@Greg_M111 ай бұрын
Yeah, good point about putting the lid on before the can has completely cooled down. In principle, I'd think that if you put the lid on while it's still hot, you'd be more likely to have an implosion rather than an explosion. But then, your experience suggests otherwise.

Save that heater/stove for just cooking instead. it's a nice dry heat & you windows will never freeze shut nor will you have to clear snow. For real. & if they are frozen shut running that diesel heater for less than an hour solves that. I got my small slide in camper up to 40c in an hour.

I hope you will consider redoing this test with Reflectics coated with speaker box material on your windows (If you spray glue the speaker box material on the Reflectics it stops the conduction of the cold from transferring through the glass through the Reflectics and gives it a better "R" value) and see how much more heat can be retained. Also If the heat will work with the opening on the canned heat slightly closed to get more hours out of the cans.

I've heard that you can just put pasta in room temp water and it will rehydrate, just over a longer period of time than with boiling water. If you had started your meal that way, earlier in the day, you might have been able to just warm the macaroni and water to 180 degrees or so and then finished with the other ingredients without generating so much steam and condensate. Would get your forced air heater back on line sooner also. Just a thought. If you snuff the cans out, one at a time, while keeping the screw lid handy, maybe you could have snuffed a can and capped it, then move to the next one to minimize the smoke.

He had great success at this for 20 years and every other camper he came across praised him for his brilliance and economy. One camping trip he set up his tent and filled his air mattress and he closed up his tent tight to keep the cold out. The next morning he did not emerge. The air mattress had sprung a leak! Less expensive way is to use a Mr. Buddy or Little Buddy heater. They are rated "indoor safe" and less hassle, and mess than this system. I use the 1-pound Coleman fuel tanks and then refill them from the large propane tanks. By refilling the large tanks and then using the large ones to refill the one pound tanks, the cost per 4 to 6 hours of heat is only about $1.50, (vs $15 for the system you are using), and there are not all the empty cans and smoke to deal with that you showed in your video. The Mr. Buddy products are rated "indoor safe" and my carbon monoxide barely rises in its reading at all over the time I'm using the heater inside my vehicle. For extra safety I do keep a fire extinguisher in my vehicle, like you do.

you need to do diy insulated winter season shades for car camping if Amazon sell them. You need winter season windsheild cover for ice and snow.

I use a Origo Heat Pal Swedish alcohol heater and stove. Three 8 hour tea candles would work in your heater.
