Tolkien and Lewis: Hobbit to Space Trilogy

I found "That Hideous Strength" to be Lewis' most interesting/prophetic. I am surprised that the initial reaction was less enthusiastic.

+Anthony Martin // Yeah I think it just threw people. The other books have an edenic quality to them and a wrinkle of hope that is so strongly felt. Hideous Strength is such a different style and the themes are so dark (everything seems to be falling apart, etc) that people probably expected something different.

As an aspiring writer I too share the same frustrations Tolkien and Lewis had and likewise I too felt that maybe I should write the stories I'd like to read.
