Speaking of Carl Hostetter, I just read Holly Ordway's new book Tolkien's Modern Reading. She had some fascinating things to say about Humphrey Carpenter's biography and his editing of the collection of Tolkien's letters. If what she says in that book is accurate, someone should be tasked with editing a second and more complete edition of the letters - possibly multi-volume. Given Carl Hostetter's access to Christopher and the Tolkien Estate's obvious approval of his work, I wonder if he would be up to such a task.

I love this idea. I think Carl has a great mind for organizing this sort of content, and would do a fantastic job!

Simply answer. Yes. But in this book tolkien only talk about the male dwarf. He did not say female dwarved have it or not.

@@TolkienRoad I go to my mailbox 3 times a day to look for my book. I don’t need to because I can see the box from 6 different windows so she’s not gonna slip past and mostly I sit on the front porch so… my book is held up in Smyrna, Tn at a “USPS Partners” warehouse. For 5 days! I could have rode my bike there and back again. See what I did there. And I could be ENJOYING my second breakfast by now. I will never pre-order from THRIFTBOOKS again. Plus I’m out of decent pipe weed. Wouldn’t matter though because I singed the inside of my Gandalf pipe and now everything tastes like fireplace. All that’s missing is a Morgul blade in my chest.
