I know the great tales are in the Silmarillion as well, but they should publish a Great Tales volume like this combining the recent publications of Children of Hurin, Beren & Luthien, and Fall of Gondolin. Then all we'd need is a new Hobbit hardcover to complete this new collection. :D

Here, in Italy, many of the Illustrated/deluxe editions of Tolkien's books are now out of stock, and their value, nowadays, is much more higher than their original price.

Ja sam dobio negde u oktobru prošle godine Illustrated Deluxe edition koji ovde u video analizirate, i moram da kažem da je knjiga zaista lepa, kvalitetnog poveza i korica, mislim da sam dobio čak i prvo izdanje štampano u Italiji. Ali sam više nego razočaran kvalitetom ilustracija, kao što ste naveli u video. Pošto nemam ilustrovano izdanje Silmariliona mislio sam da poručim ovo novo, ali ako su ilustacije lošijeg kvaliteta, zamućene i štampane na nesjajnom papiru, ne bih bacao novce. Radije ću naručiti starije ilustrovano izdanje. Na primer ilustracije u DE Dece Hurinove ili Pada Gondolina su zaista dobre rezolucije i štampane na sjajom papiru, ta serija i izdanja je po mom mišljenju zaista ispred ovih novih izdanja Nezavršenih priča i Silmariliona kako stvari stoje... Kada Vam stigne ovo novo izdanje znam da ćete sigurno uporediti kvalitet ilustracija sa prethodnim ilustrovanim izdanjem, do tada čekam sa porudžbinama. :) Hvala vam i srdačan pozdrav!

These Deluxe editions that are printed to 4,000 worldwide, are they truly limited to 4000?

Limited to 4000 in that only that number are printed and bound in Italy. As with all other deluxe editions, second reprints and beyond are printed in China instead. It seems the Chinese editions have a slightly stiffer binding, which some perceive of lesser quality. Holy shit it's Boromir

The paper in the 2004 Lord of the Rings 50th anniversary is a bit too thin (you can see words on the reverse side slightly) as in it is not as thick as the newer releases however that book is also getting a new release at the end of this year. That will be a major book for sure. Yeah Unfinished Tales is very good stuff. I have this book, actually I am currently reading it.

@@Barbatus.Calvus I recently bought the 2004 book without knowing about the upcoming 2021 but it's okay I'm not angry because I do love the grey cover design but overall it is not quite as good quality as any of the books that came after it. Now the newest ones starting with this book the Unfinished Tales are the highest quality of all, however The Fall of Gondolin slipcase version is very pretty and it is 2018. I could always buy the 2021 LOTR and have two deluxe copies, we will see.

@@Barbatus.Calvus Yes, but unfortunately i just realized after reasearch, for whatever reason, the 2013 Deluxe Slipcase edition of the Unfinished tale DOES NOT contain illustrations, just like the 2004 LOTR deluxe slipcase. Children of Hurin 2007 Deluxe Slipcase, Beren And Luthien 2017 Deluxe Slipcase, Fall of Gondolin 2018 Deluxe Slipcase and Lastly The Fall of Numenor 2022 Deluxe Slipcase. All of these 4 i own, and all 4 have illustrations, can someone please explain to me WHY IN THE FUCK, does the 2013 edition of the unfinished tales that matches all the others in my collection DOES NOT have the illustrations...why?!?! I know why, just so i can pay 50% more for this edition that you are reviewing so i can have the fkin illustrations while also ruining my collection and triggering my OCD :) great, because this 2020 edition's cover doesn't match the slipcase ones and does not match the 2021 LOTR and 2022 Silmarilion (these two only match between themselves and both have Tolkien's illustrations, currently i own only the new Silmarillion) And while we're on this subject, same issue as with 2004 LOTR and 2013 Unfinished tales of not having illustrations is the 2007 Deluxe slipcase edition of the Silmarillion DOES NOT contain illustrations, but matches my whole collection from above, fucking harper collins bro, was it that god damn hard to include Alan Lee's illustrations for all of these Deluxe slipcase editions that match between themsleves? (the ones that have a different colour on the spine but are white on the sides) cause for some odd god damn reason, as per my comments above, most of them include Lee's illustrations, but some don't :)) ruining the damn collection just for the sake of it...deluxe edition my cock, without illustrations it's just a god damn normal hardcover in my eyes, nothing deluxe about it.
