I just discovered you today. I crochet more than I knit but I definitely will watch more of you.

Really cool to hear you shout out Eweknit. They're my local fibre arts shop, I love them dearly. Looking forward to checking out the new book of patterns! 🥰

Ohohohh! What a tee! Seen alot about Creabea’s Tolsta tee, but now I want to be off gauge too 😂😍
@thewoollyworker Жыл бұрын
The colours of your tee are perfect together! I completely relate to using a different gauge so I'll keep that in mind if I get the tolsta pattern, as I don't think i'd like such a big gauge. Beautiful knits as always!

The 'Look at my holes' tee looks so great! Makes me wanna knit one for myself for some music festivals during summer :)
@highfiberknits Жыл бұрын
It would be such a good festival fit! Especially if you went really long!

Your Tolsta Tee is so pretty! I'm considering making one as my first knit garmet... 🤔

It would be a perfect first garment!

I have just tested the Mala Tank by Anna from the Bluebird Box. It’s a lovely size inclusive sleeveless tank with pretty lace detail. It will be released in May. A good option for you to research for your upcoming video. Thanks for a great episode.

I love marled and tweed yarns. Planning on knitting a poncho but with ocean colors and color work with sea shells. Haven't thought it through yet all the way. Basic pattern make it my own 😊. Love your inspiration. 💕

Also if I’m working with like 100% alpaca or another fiber that grows a ton, I always do a spicy mid project block on the body or the sleeves or both!

Can’t recommend a marl enough! Such a good way to use really thin summer fibers!

Your Tolsta Tee looks absolutely stunning! I have been wanting to make this as soon as the pattern is released, but you inspired me to try marling yarns for the first time in a garment! Thank you for the inspiration, I can't wait to see how it'll turn out :)

Love the tshirt. The bottom colour looks like intentional colour blocking. It looks great.

I knit headbands/Earwarmers (Mirella Moments patterns) with leftover cotton and linen yarns because I wear them when washing my face or in the shower if I’m not washing my hair!

Such a good use of those scraps!

I enjoyed your video as always! I want to knit a top for the first time, and I have not much experience with garments. What patter would you recommend for a beginner? I'm looking for a sleeveless top, and I think I have similar measurements as you 😊
@highfiberknits Жыл бұрын
This is a great question! I think the drinks on the patio crop is a good option as it’s knit in worsted weight yarn. My friend Rachel from night Sky knitting has made some of these!

@@highfiberknits Thank you! I'm looking at it right now on ravelry and I love how it looks! This is a great option for me to try.

I’ve recently knit two samples of the FORTH HAT by isolda Teague, which is a top down construction recipe that works for all sort of different gauges. I loved making these because it’s so customisable, and the shaping at the top of the head works super well for my head shape. Fingers crossed that the weekend hat hits your perfect formula, but if not, maybe the forth hat would be worth looking into ☺️

Ah also, i love the finished look of your tolsta tee and your ideas of marling variegated yarns! Your channel is such a source of inspiration ☺️

Thank you for your kind comment! I’ve also been thinking I might try a musselburough later this year for a different look!
@isabellaschwan7888 Жыл бұрын
You can hold it double by holding the outer end with the inner end of the yarn of one ball. That way it won’t tangle 😊

If you are looking for some scrappy ideas for spring and summer yarns, I think beach bags or market bags are really fun. Could be for yourself or gifts!
@viviantovar8957 Жыл бұрын
I use disposable “socks” (like the ones you use to try on shoes at the store) to keep those tricky fibers in their ball.

That is SO brilliant!!

Beautiful vlog as always Emily. The Tolsta looks great. Would you recommend it for a beginner knitter?
@highfiberknits Жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I think the tolsta it’s edging a bit more toward intermediate knitting as the short rows are done simultaneously with the raglan increases which I still find a bit challenging to keep my attention focused to. This is in contrast to a raglan without short row shaping. I’d definitely suggest that someone have at least practiced the increase and short rows separately on a swatch first!
