I have a question about the microscope arm. Is it stable? Better than the one with sliders?

The articulating arm I have now is not more stable than the original mount. It is, however, so much more flexible. I can actually get the microscope up and out of my way when I need to. I can pull it beyond the edge of the desk if I need to look down into a port. There is a price to pay though. You do give up some stability.

Sorry for making another comment, but can't you check if that short is hot/warm with touching it with your finger?

Sometimes you might be able to feel it but this one was not radiating much heat. I could have increased the current but I didn't need to thanks to the infrared camera.
