@@0xmoo It's because the UK is filled with dinosaur fans who worship boxing and it gets passed down from generation to generation, alongside the belief that boxing is the superior fighting art and MMA is just human cockfighting with zero skill and that anyone with half a brain cell can work their way to the top. Again, dinosaur mentality, they're stuck in the past viewing MMA in the "Just Bleed!" era from years ago where the fighters were all jacked on so many roids they could barely throw a decent punch and it just looked barbaric and unskilled. MMA now especially at the UFC level is so different, it's become extremely skilled, and every year it changes and grows and evolves, unlike boxing which seems to be doing the opposite, regressing and becoming more of a joke. Plus boxing is the most corrupt sport in the world. Also the promotors and big boxing companies stand to lose a lot of money if MMA ever became huge in the UK so i'm sure they invest their money to the right channels to impede the potential media mass coverage of MMA. UK has a long way to go before MMA is respected by the majority of combat sports fans.

@@dude9038 Simon jordan's view on mma when bisping came on was the perfect example of this. Someone who's been a boxing fan all his life and when giving his opinion on it he says it's barbaric and dangerous which is ironic given the fact it's been proven getting hit with boxing gloves compared to mma gloves is more dangerous because boxing shakes your skull a lot more whilst mma punches are clean. Very out of touch, boxing is slowly falling out of favour tho and it will only become more and more with how corrupt and the fighters act like they're in a circus. They can try slow the growth of mma all they want but eventually it catches up, you can't halt smth forever. UFC has already made a big difference here in the UK compared to 10 years ago. They just need to keep bringing events here, we'll watch a fight in a sold out wembley one day. More and more of our youth is being inspired by our fighters

He's out for 1 year due to injury. Most would have vacated belt but jones hasn't so it's caused debate. Jones is meant to retire after fighting stipe anyways (and tbh he might not even fight again now). That's what we are all hoping for, Jon being stripped. I'm very unhappy with how the UFC has handled this heavyweight situation. The fight to make is Stipe vs. Aspinall. Jon had 1 single fight at heavyweight, and before that he had a bad dispute about pay with the UFC that lasted almost 3 years. Jones has been historically very unpredictable and difficult to negotiate with. The only reason the UFC is now trying to bend over backwards to help Jon, is because they are concerned with Ngannou having the reputation as the "baddest man on the planet." Jon beating Stipe, helps the UFC more than it helps Jon (they want to claim to own the best heavyweight fighter). Frankly, their reason for making the Jon vs. Stipe fight is completely unacceptable. Because if Ngannou didn't exist, the UFC would not make the Jon vs. Stipe fight.
