The fact that Ian Marter's name is not on the cover of this book along with Tom's is a complete insult to his memory. Tom and Ian co-wrote the original screenplay together between takes when filiming _Doctor Who_ . Marter himself was an excellent writer who wrote several of the _Doctor Who_ Target novels and likely left quite an impression on the original script as well. I know Tom Baker has a huge ego, but snubbing his old friend like this is not cool.

I love how he stills feels like he is the Doctor. He is like "the Daleks, I beat them, but they never learn". Is awesome because for me he is the most Doctor, if I can use that expression.

Thing is he never really did beat them all the time.In the two stories he did with Daleks, he had the chance to wipe them out in Genesis but choose not to in that famous scene with the wires. He had more success in Destiny of the Daleks as he played two robotic armies against each other and outsmarted them all. He's a wonderful man is Tom and a real favourite of mine. Glad he's still going strong.

I met Tom back at a convention, in Barking (a place in London), back in 2012 - I met Paul Darrow the same day, but that's a different subject... He signed The Android Invasion for me (DVD version). I truly wanted that signed because it was the first Doctor Who story my family had on video, back in the day, and I thought it would be a tribute to all the years of collecting videos and DVDs... Tom is great to talk to... I never asked him for acting advice, but I did ask him something (can't remember what) but it was what he said, that I took as acting advice, and... my god, it has improved my acting :) I'm really looking forward to reading Scratchman!

One afternoon in 1980 while babysitting my youngest niece, we were channel surfing looking for something she might enjoy... and ended up on PBS where part 2 of the the Doctor Who story "The Androids of Tara" was airing. That was my introduction to the show and to Tom Baker, the Doctor who charmed me into becoming a fan. He's still a favorite of mine. :)
