No, Tom Bolt never sold this watch. You can still inquire about price just go to his website watchguru. Jeff Salmon had a buyer who must have been a sucker. The highest price ever paid for a Rolex is 929,148 USD (took out Buyers Premium because that has no factor in private sales) or 564,522 Pounds. He wants more than the 9th most valuable Rolex (value barely over 300,000 pounds). Sultan of Oman had lots of Rolex's made which is a problem, on top of that they are all very similar styled, and if that wasn't bad there are multiple for sale. Classic case of bone in mouth disease: When a dog looks into a pond, sees his reflection, and drops the bone he has for the reflection of the bone in the pond. The result is that the dog loses the only bone he has. Tom Bolt went there not to make a deal. Jeff Salmon made him a offer of more than Tom was expecting. Tom thought I have this offer and I should be able to get more or the buyer of Jeff should meet with me after the show. Tom never has been made an offer of more than 300,000 pounds and lost the only bone he had. Problem with Jeff Salmon is he doesn't operate on margins like the other dealers and is willing to only make 10% on a major sale (six figures).

Tom Bolt screwed himself. I like the watch and although they are an acquired taste, there is definitely a clientele out there. Fancy turning down three hundred thousand pounds! And the comments regarding 'bad-taste'? That's coming from someone with a gaudy shirt, another wearing a scarf, and a woman with a huge iced ring! Bunch of snobs.
