That's why when I read the judge rejected the plaintiff from grouping defendants with ftx..i knew was going to be a big problem for the plaintiff to prove wrong doing...not to mention bankruptcy is still on going they are steadily finding money ..who is to say plaintiff don't get money back..

Also was not FTX worth 53 billion at time brady signed with them...how does the plaintiff show that brady and companys " endorsement " actually brought the plaintiffs to sign up with FTX...would not the profit margins have been just as much a lure?

Right, that's a major issue for the plaintiffs in this case. The complaint, from what I recall, never alleges that seeing Tom Brady's ad convinced them to deposit money into FTX YBAs.

Reminds me of an old idiom: A fool and his money are soon parted. Also reminds me of the Fyre Festival fiasco and the "influencers" like Kendall Jenner who were also sued. Either way getting investment advice from a football player or celebrity isn't a great idea...

So true. Thanks for the insightful comment.

I know what the word MUST mean because of the context, but you say something that sounds like, "move its" or "moomits" about 300 times when referring to the defendants. What the hell is this word, how is it spelled, and am I an idiot for not knowing what this word is? Edit: I agree with your comments on puffery. There's a distinction between the Papa John's slogan case and this one. Good catch.

I'm saying "Movants," which refers to Brady and his Co-Defendants who filed the Motion to Dismiss. Thanks for watching!

@@LegalPadLaw WOW! I learned a new word today! You don't hear many new words when you're 64 years old. THANKS

Enjoyed listening to your take. I agree that it's sketchy to legally link the movants to FTX's fraud simply because they were hired to advertise FTX's services. However, it also seems problematic to dismiss the complaint without giving the plaintiffs the opportunity to engage in discovery. Seems like IF Brady or whomever had a contract with FTX that was based on compensation pegged to increased sales somehow or if he was paid with FTX stock or with FTX's "currency" then the movants might get somewhere....
