ALL HAIL THE RETURN OF TOM! Please bring back the Grunge, Bad Monkey, and Deep Freeze. Andy, if you're trying to become one of my favorite guitar channels, by bringing interviews like these and your constant great content, it's working!

I'll be a first day buyer! Such an underrated pedal. If used with the gain all the way down, low at 3 o'clock, high at 9 o'clock, boosted by an overdrive, it is the tightest distortion ever. I've got my Digitech version.

Seeing gear as being part of the art form is interesting but it makes sense It's like photographs having lenses they absolutely love and mad all their best photos with. Thanks for the interview!

On New Years my band played a show and our other guitarists couldn't bring any of his gear. We were running into a backline of JCM800s. We're a hardcore band and there just isn't enough gain in a JCM800 without a boost to get where we need to be. One of the other bands was also just using the venues backline. I had a Boss SD-1 and a Digitech Grunge in my bag. Love the Digitech Grunge. I offered it to this other band and they turned their noses up at it. They played an extreme metal set with an unboosted JCM800 tone. Our set came round, the guitarist plugs in the Grunge, we set it as close to a 'clean' boost and run the JCM cranked and out comes this wonderful, thick bloom of rich, harmonicly full aural bliss. Genuinely sounded astonishing. I will be using a lot more in future. I'm usually an HM2 nerd, but the Grunge is my second choice. Running both on a double tracked guitar is just blissful chaos. Very glad to see them back and I look forward to damaging my wallet.

I have the grunge distortion in my studio tube 2101 - and it is wild!!! Use it on low gain settings 2-5. Run a fuzz into it also on low gain and it goes from bad to evil👿

I've had the Digitech version for years. It's my favorite distortion. People always laugh when it tell them that, but if set right, it is the tightest, meanest tone possible. I show them and watch them eat their words. The cab sim is also one of the best direct tones.

Hell yes! Love Digitech! I have the Mosaic and it's one of my favorite pedals. Saved me the trouble of having to get a twelve string guitar. Also had a meat box when I was younger. Great pedal.

I still have a RPx400, I actually bought it again when my first one broke down. Digitech flooded the market with cheap multifx pedals in the nineties(?) Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest was an endorser for the brand.

Here's an idea for Tom for a new pedal. Behold ... "The Neck Shaker" ! It's a subtle vibrato with an envelope controlled delayed onset, so the vibrato won't start until it detects a sustained chord, then it gently shakes your guitars neck for you. I guess the detection would have to be more activity based than level threshold based. How many great guitarists have we seen shaking their necks at the end of their sustained chords? It MIGHT become an "always-On" pedal.

DOD was always on my radar as a young musician too because of the price but sadly I didn't buy any of their pedals until like 5 years ago.... ish...... anyway I got the boneshaker distortion pedal but unfortunately didn't get along with it. It stacked well but by its self it wasn't working for me. Plugged it into my buddies bass rig just to see what would happen and after hearing 10 seconds of dude playing I was like yep this belongs on your rig... it's still there today lol.

My first pedal was a Dod fx53 fuzz. Went into a music shop and asked how "Never met a girl like you before" solo was made and he sold me that. He lied. I was 18, naive. But it worked out that I loved fuzz.

I hope that they will revive/expand their multi-fx units like the RP360/XP so that you can stack modulation/overdrives or come up with something simply mind-blowing. If anyone can do it, it's DigiTech!!!

@@erlannderrantem6972 for synths, but I think for guitars it could be used in a stereo setup to have a ducking/pumping effect if used with certain fx on a side channel. i'll have to see if i can get any neat sounds from pedal setup and the rack compressor I have. If anything for guitars a metronome could be plugged into the sidechain insert.
