There are several who didn't deserve the award but still got it and several who more than deserved but didn't like Sir Ian, Patrick Stewart, Stallone, Tom Cruise, Robert Downey just to name a few. The Oscars is just as bad and corrupted as the Grammy! Everyone and their dog heard the name Tom Cruise but not the actors who've won the Oscars, not one! At most they know Leonardo but not the name just that they'd recognize him from Titanic and I'm talking about the whole world not just the US. Tom is above that shitty corrupted award.

I sometimes think Tom Cruise was TOO BIG for the oscars. I mean, yeah, he can act alright but his stardom overshadowed his acting ability I think. This man should have been nominated for the role of Lestat in 1994 and won, but was completely snubbed. For me, always will be the best actor of all time and greatest movie star of all time up there with Michael Jackson (greatest music star).

He definitely deserved the Oscar for his role as Lestat and at least a nomination for his role on "Born on the 4th of July" where he did an amazing job. "The Last Samurai" is another brilliant role that the academy simply not payed enough attention. I truly believe that due to his personal life and his religion have made him a mark man to the Hollywood powerful people and I just don't understand because to this day no one has had a bad word on him and he was never involved in any type of scandal that often disgrace actors in Hollywood. He has every right to choose what religion and the way he wants his life to be lead as long he doesn't hurt nobody. He's the last great movie star.
