like I've been saying, these videos are obviously super low effort, no edits etc. and I know it shows.. so I appreciate you guys bearing with me. I know I ramble a little but its HARD to find time to put extra time into making these videos, hard to actually plan them out and get a more to-the-point video. but I at least wanted to get my opinion out to those who want it while its still relevant to the subject. thanks for watching

One of my friends works over at Gibson in Florida and told me that Tom has been gone for some time. His contract ended and they did not renew it. This will happen sometimes with endorsements. I`m super happy he`s back with Fender!

1:10 - Your daughter's face when she found out that Gibson, one of the biggest and longest running guitar brands in the world, takes a long time time to make a signature guitar for an artist. Priceless! Quite frankly, I'm as shocked as her lmao. Just another reason why I'm proud to have always played, and continue to play, Fender.

I’ve always been a fan of 335s and strats, since the starcaster is the combo of both, it’s been my favorite guitar. Not surprised Tom went with a starcaster.

Duncan Custom is my favorite SD pickup. It’s very clean but can get angry. Insanely good in mahogany, which is kind of weird for him to use it in a maple/roasted maple combo. Brian Baker of Bad Religion swears by it though. Would’ve been cool to see do like a semi hollow Jazzmaster or something. Also, congrats on the new guitar! She’s a cutie!

Fender absolutely will do a production run. They aren’t going to miss a cash grab like this. They can only reinvent the strat and Tele and rename the series so many times. The American Vintage II is what’s selling bc of the vintage specs

I didn’t even know about the Starcaster until I saw the post about his guitars. I think his look awesome, but after checking them out, not so much with a regular one. Something about his colors and the single pickup. I have the green strat and wish so bad I would’ve bought the epiphone 333 😩 I really hope they make this new guitar available to buy though. I’d probably get a green one and put a brown stripe on it to make a mint chocolate theme 😂 or the off white looks pretty nice too.

I also prefer the strat but I think with Tom's back issues causing him to shorten his strap it would look kind of awkward with the smaller body on the guitar. I always wondered if this was part of the reason why he went the gibson. Never really liked the oversized bodies, personally.

@@NJTllrd Maybe! but I'm not convince you and TD have the same thoughts and feelings about things if i'm entirely honest. I don't think Coronado's and Starcaster's look all that different from each other. Personally I prefer Coronado's and as I said, look more like a 335.
@NJTllrd
@NJTllrd Жыл бұрын
@@HotelSeptember what I dislike with the Coronado is the combination of a very round 335 style body with the strat style headstock. I would have also preferred for Tom to choose the original Starcaster headstock, which in my opinion matches the large hollowbody better. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess..

I would have loved to see Tom in a Jazzmaster or something like the Untitled days because the Strat probably looks silly on him now with how high he plays versus before. Either way I'm so pumped he's back at Fender. I'm not a fan of Gibson.

I like the Starcaster and his Gibson/Epiphone 333 as I like semi-hollow guitars and hope his" Starcaster" becomes a signature guitar as his es-333 is no longer in production and I was never a huge fan of his brown/cream 333 as the color scheme never really jived with me, though a single pickup semi-hollow is an awesome design concept, though I kinda wish he had gone with with one (without) f holes as even though they are very rare on guitars, they help with feedback and there is a current (production line) Starcaster by Squier with any holes!..

He went to Gibson because the hollow bodies were lighter. It wasn't about brand change, It was about his back injuries. He blamed the guitar mainly, but if you watch these videos it was his posture. Anyways, The only reason he doesn't use stratocasters, is because he slipped two discs, and has had three or four surgeries.
@littleredguitars2
@littleredguitars2 Жыл бұрын
The 333s were not lighter. Thats just 100% incorrect. And He wanted a bigger guitar because the strats felt small to him. The only real change to help his back was raising the guitar strap so it wasn't so low. Dont know where you got your info from but its just wrong

Needs new guitar or wants new guitars? He has endless amount of guitars. Not to mention he could have just bought guitars from any seller and had them immediately like a normal person. If they’re selling these to the public, then that’s obv the reason why. His Gibson was unaffordable and the fender sold a shit ton back in the day. So it all comes down to money and marketing. Just like when they released 3 different versions of Take Off, let’s make our fans by the record 3 times! Collect them all! Marketing at it’s finest.
