Quick theory: what if the broken guitar that Tom carries around is a symbol for Blink and Tom's younger, punk-rock side. He carries it with him everywhere he goes, yet it's broken and can never be the same. It's broken but he still can't let it go.

Love this, sounds so heartfelt. Not the greatest singer, nor the greatest guitar player, but darn if he doesnt have the most passion of almost any artist these days.He genuinely has an emotion or thought that he is trying to convey through sound that he feels he can't rightly describe through any other means. Also based on this video and "A New World" video I can only assume the broken guitar is his symbolism of blink. Its a Fender strat (which I believe he played in Blink) that although is tattered and broken he will continue to carry with him as it is apart of him.....just some random youtuber thoughts.

Nah, it was just miss communication. Blink waited for Tom to finish up his Ava stuff for ages and showed loads of patience. Understandably, they got frustrated towards the end and when Toms manager started wording his emails badly saying things like "Toms out" Blink obviously got pissed and kicked him out.

All laid over This pain will drown out the sun Mother, I’m coming home But the war has just begun. All the boys will await the arising tide On a pier with a traveled gun, I like the adrenaline, it’s like a fucking drug Mother, I’m coming home I’ve discovered dreams that speak in tongues Mother, my mind it runs Cause the war has just begun.. Every night I can hear the approaching high In a hole, but i’d fear i’d run I got a thing for the edge of a life to come undone Mother, I’m coming home Old and tired, scarred, and bruised to the bone Mother, I’m coming home And the war has just been won. All my friends can await the big ships to arrive But I’d rather not join the fun I need a minute to maybe soak in the sight Of the town that I came from.

This is... interesting. See, growing up, in my early teens I listened to a lot of blink-182. I was learning to play the electric guitar and I can honestly say that Dude Ranch, Enema of The State, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket really helped me get used to the physical aspects of holding a guitar and playing standing up as if I were performing. I never had any fun playing guitar sitting down... as a matter of fact I never had much fun in my early teens anyway. I was living in south Florida where I had moved and didn't have a ton of friends. I used to play those songs for hours. Now there's all this talk about blink-182 being broken up and musicians replacing other musicians and who's better than who... I don't know how to feel. See, as I got older I realized that a lot of the blink material I loved was mostly written by Mark. I then started to appreciate Tom as a performer. Tom was cool as heck. Right around that 2003 Untitled period... blink-182 were the definitive pop-punk band. Nobody looked cooler, sounded as raw and catchy, nobody had a better drummer. :) So I'm sitting here listening to The Invisible Parade. I'm not as I was ten years ago... I guess Tom, Mark and Travis aren't either. That's ok. We're all trying to grow. I'm just happy Tom DeLonge is still trying new things. It means he still feels the need to express himself with music. I'm giving the music a chance... on the other hand I think they all need to treat this weird period of blink-182 with a little more respect than they have. If it's money related... I hope it gets sorted out. If it really does come down to logistics and timing then I suggest they hug it out and get back on track. Nobody is going to replace blink-182. Not even blink-182.

@eliasramirezcroman
@eliasramirezcroman 9 жыл бұрын
You see, Tom already had contracts signed for these records. Some of which were from before blink got back together. That being said the "To The Stars" record is kind of a revenge record or a service to the fans who wanted a new blink record with Tom, but It's not fair to make the argument "He should be using this time with Blink" cause I think Mark and ESPECIALLY Travis want Tom out of the band so they can follow their musical tastes and not be tied down by this guy who has crazy radical ideologies. They jumped at the chance to kick him out of the band not only at the "Tom. Is. Out." miscommunication, but also so they can say "we got rid of of Tom" instead of doing it on Tom's own terms cause they fear he'd leave anyways.

It is possible melodyne was used to polish it up a bit. You can make minor and sometimes even major adjustments with melodyne and it can barely be noticeable. Tom can sing in key pretty well if he really tries though. I am sure in a recording environment he does a bunch of takes just like mostly anyone else would. Who cares though as long as it sounds good.

yeah all popular songs are catchy, doesnt mean theyre good by any means. five seconds of summer is catchy but theyre not good. the producer that helped write every single song ( says it in the album art) has never worked with anyone but pop bands like one direction and five seconds of summer. so thats why their sound is so damn poppy and catchy

Tom alone with a guitar is Waaaaaaaaaaaay much better than what Mark Travis and Matt can do together, Commercially speaking Blink got a good record out, but the new songs has nothing unique or "new" to bring to the table. Tom, my friend (if i may), you're ahead of the game, at least songwriting-wide Keep making music! : )

Do you not hear his voice? It's doctored to hell and it still sounds worse than anything he's done post 2005. This dude is going insane on drugs and all you Tombots are going to force him to think he'll be just fine, shitting out as much "art" as he possibly can as he isolates himself further and further into depression.

His voice doesn't sound that edited, you can hear him go off key. He's just singing in his own range instead of trying to sing stuff that's too high for him.

Screw the haters man. Friends don't make friends give up everything for them. Say you and some friends had a project going on but one of them had some other stuff he wanted to do on the side. This friend was still going to work with you on your group project, but he had commitments with his other stuff he had to fulfill as well. Instead of being patient with him you and friends were like "No, fuck your other stuff man! We don't give a shit about your other commitments! It's our project only for you or you're out!" Your friend couldn't commit to such a stipulation and so you and your friends went around to everyone you knew and badmouthed him to high heavens. That's what happened to Tom. Like seriously, what kind of "friends" do that to a friend? Fuck that man. Screw new Blink. Mark and Travis stepped out of line big time. These two songs Tom has released so far have both been great. Yeah, they could have been good with all of Blink, but not now after all that's happened. You've got my support all the way man.

Took the words out of my mouth man. Mark and Travis put all the blame on him with their interviews while Tom posted on his own page putting the blame on the band as a whole. His status seemed a lot more genuine and yet Mark and Travis still to this day continue to badmouth him via interviews. This song to me is testament that he wants to do blink and yet Mark and Travis are acting like the impatient jealous girlfriend who can't understand that Tom has other commitments and passions he can't just throw all away for blink.

They were patient with him. For four years, and Tom could never find the time to record with Blink. He's going to release four albums this year. He obviously had time to record. He's a douche bag. He was holding back Blink.
@Modist802

Gdayguy Matt He was holding blink back, but he was contracted. And he never quit. He was kicked out, and replaced. Even Travis said, 'Tom should man up and quit.' And no, he shouldn't. Because he never planned too. You're a fucking moron. Tom was blink, sorry. It's a true and sad truth. He wrote 90% of the songs. A lot of times he would go to mark and say, I want you to sing this part or what do you think of this? But Tom was like the core member of blink. People will disagree and get angry about this statement, but it's true.

Thefreakman8 I have nothing against Matt Skiba man. I think he is really talented and his band Alkaline Trio is really good. To me though, Tom is the heart and soul of Blink 182. Matt replacing him just doesn't fit. It sound more like a cover band than Blink 182. And if you follow Tom on various social media outlets, you can see that he really made an effort to rejoin the band, but mark and travis are ignoring him.

Love watching him continue to mature throughout the years musically and professionally. It's incredible and I feel that he is one of the best song writers around, he's so inspiring and should be all over the media winning awards for albums especially with Angels & Airwaves. I wish they would get out there more, they are so deserving of it. Angels & Airwaves & Tom DeLonge have changed my life.

Both my brothers died this time 2 years ago, one was 38 and the other 40 died 3 and a half weeks of each other. They both died of heart attacks so this time of year means nothings to me or my dad anymore... But every time I heard Tom’s voice it reminds me of them as they could both tried to sing that brilliant way Tom does and it makes me smile, so thank you so much brother. Truly are an inspiration to young rockers out there! Thanks for your time people. Please stay safe during this shit that’s going on around the world 🌍 #182forever

Tom no supo acerlo.
