Fantastic video Elliott !! I recently got into watching the Monster carp series and liked Dovey straight away, as well as the other guys. I went fishing with your Dad again after 40+ yrs several weeks ago, and it was wonderful to catch up again. It was your Dad and Granddad who got me into fishing all those years ago in Chelmsford and I never forgot them. Hoping to see Kes again soon to go fish the brook :O)

Ahhh this is a great message to receive. My dad told me all about it, proper trip down memory lane that I bet! The brook! Now that is a blast from the past!

@@cypographycarpfishing It was indeed Elliott. We had a fab couple of days, a few beers, a full English and spot of fishing.... Perfect !! 😊 Can't wait to do it again. Good luck with all your fishing adventures.

Brilliant video. ❤ History lessons now for the water gate folk. 400 years ago monks brought carp into this country from aboard with just damp hessian. However they also had a mat with a siren above it.

Why does fluff snap the line? Is it not being clipped up and casting out time after time that strains the line and causes wear and tear?

@@stephenward715 Hi Guys, Next time you catch a carp, time it, from start to finish, i think you'd be really surprised how long you have them out for. The big common was out of the water for 5 minutes, and i can assure you that's fine. For peace of mind, they can actually survive out of water for a very long time, if kept watered and looked after, of course, the less time the better, there's no doubt about that!

@Sunbro7102 жыл бұрын
Elliot, you leave every fish you catch in the net for 20-30 minutes?? I agree they need a rest but surely 5 minutes is plenty. They’re not going to properly calm down until they’re released so I think that amount of time is causing them unnecessary stress. Just my opinion.
@cypographycarpfishing2 жыл бұрын
Yep that's fine, we're all entitled to an opinion. There's no better place for a carp to be than in the water, and the longer they're in the water the better, so 5 mins vs 20mins, 20 minutes wins, for me... I base everything i do on many years spent catching carp and what i observe along the way. For me, longer they can rest, the better.

@@aarondavies8486 i knew several people that use to eat pike back in the day they said they would wrap it in a wet towl to keep it moist and the fish would still be alive hours later main reason a fish will die is if there gills dry out so they can’t absorb oxygen
