Tom Hanks: Forrest Gump

A lesser actor would have been branded by this character forever! Tom was able to pass in and pass by and ad to his resume. Next to Billy Bob's character in Slingblade can you think of a more copied voice or folks trying to talk like Forrest? Pretty is as pretty does right? This guy is the best! all around actor of my generation!

Yeah you're right! I remember when I was 9 & we saw "Forest Gump in Theaters, It got a standing ovation. I too will always remember Tom for Forest Gump. That is one of my all time Favorite movies. "In that's all I got to say about that" LOL

Totally different movies, but the classic Hollywood movie and I lead actor I think of when I think of "Forrest Gump" and Tom Hanks are "It's a Wonderful Life" and James Stewart. The lives of both Forrest Gump and George Bailey are like feathers tossed in the wind, yet each makes decisions in a tempest beyond their control that we admire and which are models for us all. And, for each of these lives, we exclaim in our hearts, "It's a Wonderful Life!"

i know i got really pissed when people started comparing them. i love fincher, but that film was such a bore missing all the charm and humor from Forrest Gump. Pitt wasnt bad but he never got me to know the character and unlike Forrest Gump which simply used the visuals, it let the visuals use the film.
