Payel Banswar It's very easy to say about things according to the perspective of others, in this case is the Academy. But if you take a serious enough consideration, I believe you will find out many interesting things about movie's performance! Try out Shawsank Redemption's Tim Robbins performance in 1994 and Micheal Douglas performance in Falling Down (1993), I thnk you gonna see the difference here. The point is not about hard work, since other actors also put lots of effort in their performance too, we must jugde on the quality of the performance, dont let anything else let in :)

Jake Connors 1994 was truly one of the best but It really depends on what you're looking for. Citizen Kane from 1941 is still considered the best movie ever made by most critics and people alike, but I'd say if you can bypass the color aspect, 1939 is the best year for the Oscars overall: Goodbye Mr. Chips, Gone with the Wind, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Ninotchka, Of Mice and Men, The Wizard of Oz, and Wuthering Heights.

I don't know it is like when you live your childhood you don't think about it as dated and before you know it is. I don't think I even meant super old movies I just thought about stuff like GWH and such again and realized 15 year olds seem Ben and Matt as "old people" let alone how old this guy is featured in Forrest Gump. I've seen Forrest Gump countless of times and seeing this brought a tear to my eye. It's one of those films that shows how lucky you are in life. Tom Hanks plays that character so true and so humble it's unbelievable. Everyone should have a Forrest Gump in their life no matter what. Pure love and pure friendship. What else could a person ask for. Do everything for someone but never ask for anything back. Ano it's a fictional character but I wish I had a Forrest Gump close to me at times. Love from Scotland 🏴🏴🏴

@deflumped10 жыл бұрын
Lol, if the industry was honest then Hank's would not of won for what is a decent performance, but with a very limited and shallow role, best performance that year by far was Nigel Hawthorne in The Madness of King George, but Hollywood "politics" at the time, meant there was no way another foreign actor was going to win. Really it just shows why awards like the Oscars are ajoke.

It has been suggested in the news that Tom Hanks is not in the best of health. I am in such hopes that that isn't the case as I can't imagine this world without this dear man. What makes him so endearing is his genuine care and concern for the roles he plays, AND the kind of person he is in real life. Someone you could have a nice conversation with, have over to your home for dinner, enjoy his sincerity and love of family and life. I compare him to Jimmy Stewart - a real icon in the movie world and such an example for others. If I could speak to Tom Hanks I would say a wholehearted THANK YOU for your many years of enjoyable movies and know that we love you big time and wish you the very best in years to come. God Bless.........

Morgan Freeman and John Travolta were amazing. But Tom Hanks... Tom's in a league of his own. Just ask yourself, could anyone possibly pull off Forrest Gump the way Tom did?
