I worked at Paramount Studios when Bosom Buddies was being shot. On my lunch hours I liked watching the rehearsals of the sitcoms. I had a lot of shows to choose from, but ultimately I always chose watching Bosom Buddies because of the great cast. Tom gave me a nickname one day, Eddie Rabbit, after the country music star. Peter Scolari was just as talented as Hanks and their rapport with each other was genuine.

He's a professional storyteller and there are some skills he's really good at. He was very professional the whole time, not natural. If you know those skills you will immediately notice and will not get charmed but if you don't know, you might be in awe. Just for an example, he does full energy intro story lines so as to drown Jimmy, who was trying to cut him the first second. He succeeds, based on how the camera remains fixated on him which usually does not happen as they would like to get the show host in the camera but not in this case. You can rewind and see for how many seconds he gets the camera time and Jimmy remains off the camera.

It is such a wonderful moment to see an actor like Tom Hanks - a true icon in my generation - share his passion and vibrance for Life and his craft!! This was the BEST interview I’ve seen in a LONG TIME even pre-pandemic. I absolutely adore and love all his work! I always watched Tom Hanks from childhood with some fascination because he had the same kind of energy as my own uncle did. As great as it was to hear all his stories from radio and movies, it did seem like he was trying very hard to not get emotional over the loss of Peter Scolari. It was very appropriate to leave the video of him in Busom Buddies until the end of the interview. When Tom Hanks choked up after it ended, I did too. The guy doesn't need a space mission. He needs a hug.

I met Peter Scolari on the sidewalk outside the place I worked in Beverly Hills, he was waiting to see his agents and he was hanging out juggling right outside my window, since I was a huge fan of Bosom Buddies (the episode where they go to Monaco with Donna Dixon was my fav) so I walked outside and said “You are Peter Scolari, I love you”! And he taught me how to juggle and hung out talking about stuff until my boss came out and told me to leave him alone. A really sweet humble man, RIP

"Bosom Buddies" was so great in it's day. The entire cast was so good, as were the basic scripts and premise. Being 14 and never even having heard of 'Some Like it Hot', it seemed like a really cutting edge and topical premise at the time. It was one of the few shows my friends and I would go out of our way to watch, and watching Hanks become a 'superstar' in the coming years was always a pleasant call back to those days. Goodbye Peter!
