*Charlie Bronson says,* "Tom (Do you remember the floods... tells the story... that wouldn't have happened to me), 'cause I would've said, CUT IT OFF NOW! *Sometimes you gotta cut a little piece of yourself off,* yeah, *no matter how much it hurts, in order to grow. Yeah? In order to move on. You know what I mean?"* > _This is a beautiful way to live. It ends _*_your own personal suffering_*_ against those who've wronged you._ None of this matters if you have mental health or addiction issues. *This way of life APPLIES TO EVERYONE.* I really wanted to type this phonetically so we could all read it in Charlie Bronson's voice. Perfect casting, no-one else could have played this role, or dealt with Charlie's fearsomely strong personality on his own level. Charlie would just see straight though any other Holly pretender not upto scratch. Ton Hardy's the one actor who knows hows to deal with Charlie with respect without being scared of him. Fantastic film, and I'm a ex-prisoner who has read the book, a great read even if you've seen movie. Film is a great rendition, Nicholas Winding Refen is one of my favourite directors, brilliant! 👍👌🇬🇧

To be fair, Hardy is not exactly a "Hollywood actor", not in the true sense of the word, same as with Idris Elba, btw (or Ozzy actors, for that matter). Bc, I don't care if they would work exclusively in the US/Hollywood for the rest of their lives, I'll *always* see them as UK actors, some of UK's very best, who just happened to work overseas. In the end, it's their mentality, shaped by growing up in Britain, having deep-rooted, proper British values, which essentially will always be a distinct contrast with, and set them apart from the Holly clique... (Just my personal opinion, oc.) PS: Such a turn-off to hear Idris speak with an American accent, it's unnatural, LOL!

Just watched the movie and came here to see this. I think I know why Bronson knew Tom would do a good job. Maybe that handshake was a test to see if Tom would be respectful enough of him as person to shake his hand despite all the bad stuff people say about him, but the real deal breaker for Bronson's certainty must have been how much respect and attention Tom has for him as a human being. Tom talking about being ashamed in front of Charlie is a big tell about how insecure he is in his ability to do a worthy portrayal of him. He doesn't take it for granted just because he is already famous and recognised, he wants to do his best so that the result can be something he could be proud of, and I think Charlie could see that in the way Tom treated him during their calls and personal talks.
@keyshyia1598 Жыл бұрын
I liked the Bronson movie, and even bought it. I’m American, and I didn’t know about Charles Bronson. I had to watch a documentary about Bronson to get a deeper understanding of him. I was very impressed with the documentary. I didn’t know how much damage he did at Broadmoor hospital or that he never killed anyone, he just beat up people. I actually hope they give the real Charles Bronson a second chance because as much as he has gone through and his life story, he should have another chance. Thanks to everybody who decided to do a movie on him, interviewing him, and thanks to Tom Hardy for doing a great job playing Bronson. However, there is a prisoner I’ve recently heard about who deserves to have their story made into a movie. I heard of a man named Robert Maudsley. I watched a KZbin show about him, and I was shocked, angry, and heartbroken. His story is so sad, and he is another person who’s story needs to be known as well.

Tom is better than Brando!! Brando was the same caricature of himself over and over again. Never seen an actor as good as Tom.❤❤

His accent is all over the shop. Sometimes he sounds East end London geezer, other times Jamaican, other times Irish, sometimes American LOOOL wtf

I absolutely love Tom. Specially mad max, Bronson and my favourite legend. He deserves all his success with much more to come. Hopefully bond..James Bond...👤

@bud ekinsYep, way too short for Bond. Shame, he'd be a DoubleO Badass.

Tom's a complex character, I can see why bronson chose him to play him on screen, great character actor, but I do think I could of been filmed better, directing could of been slot better, didn't feel after watching it like the director done bronsons story justice, brilliant acting by Hardy though amazing performance.
