It sucks they cut it. That was a funny scene shared by brothers. It showed that people still believed in Spidey even with what was happening. Still worried about him now that they knew he was a kid. And it showed people took Mysterio's side with the guy throwing paint on him calling him a murderer. Plus it was like the only scene so far showing Tom's Spider-Man being an actual neighborhood hero

Daredevil and Luke Cage would be neighborhood heroes seeing as they primarily protect Hell’s Kitchen and Harlem (neighborhoods inside of Manhattan). It’s the main reason he’s consistently contacted by the avengers, he is not a low grade hero. He’s practically the best hero for NYC, his agility and webslinging were built to traverse the metropolis environment perfectly.

I just noticed the reason Peter unmasks in this scene is because the suit anticipating a chest strike moved the nanites from his mask to his exposed chest because surely his ai knew his identity wasn’t a secret, this leads to doctor octopus pausing upon realizing it isn’t his Peter and this gives long enough for the nanites he took to connect to his arms and sync up with peters suit

They should’ve kept the scene. It showed how the neighborhood was coming to grips with learning Spiderman’s identity. It also provides much better context for that green paint that was thrown on him at the end of the scene. Where as in the original cut it’s just shown in a news video without context.
