Tom is no giant -- maybe among the white singers, but definitely not among Blacks. (It never sounds authentic when whites try to sing like Blacks --- they try to hard.) Cracks me up how whites are always looking for a white person who's as talented as Blacks. You guys are pitiful. Tom is no giant next to Ray -- Ray dwarfs him. Tom was no songwriter or even a good musician. He also copied the singing style of Black singers, ( he said it himself). On the other hand, Charles wrote a string of hits that will last into eternity, and he had his own style of singing, it wasn't copied.

Saw Sir TJ in my country of PR in 1969 and he was amazing. The best part was when I went to a piano bar the week after his show where he stopped for a drink and everyone was still talking about how nice and considerate he was to everyone,he spent hours singing and parting with everyone. Had the pleasure of seeing RC in the 90’s and by pure luck ran into him and his body guard and he was as kind as anyone. Like my father used to say they don’t make them like that anymore.
