The name of the song is "My Soul Is A Witness" It was written by Paul Anka, who also wrote "She's A Lady" a #2 hit for Tom Jones (1971). The song was for a proposed Tom Jones movie, "The Gospel Singer", somewhat like Neil Diamond's The Jazz Singer (1980) I remember Tom Jones hosting this show. I was there with my mother in 1974 at the NBC Studios, Burbank, California. Because of my mother's arthritis, we sat in a front row of seats where everyone else had to sit on floor mats.

Paul Anka is the writer of the song along with "She's A Lady". He also wrote and performed on other shows "Jubilation", a second song he wrote for Tom Jones's The Gospel Singer movie. That is one of the reasons why he is on The Midnight Special with Tom. If you watch a video of Paul Anka performing his "Jubilation", you can see how he wrote "My Soul Is A Witness" another gospel song.
