Thanks Tom! This gave me the confidence to make the dish for the first time and I made it with a GF pancake mix, M&S beef sausages. I added a dark sweet Sherry to the gravy mix and used Kallo beef gravy.

Also a bit of dried sage, black pepper and thyme to the Yorkie just raises the flavours presented on plate. I'm glad he's using Bisto I personally use the Aldi Quixo but use it with everything. I even use the chicken one with thyme as a rub for my Roast Chicken/ Turkey dinner. Delicious!

" Fee-fi-fo-fum " ....THIS IT.....THIS IS NUMmmMmm NUMmmmms........Im Escoffier trained....Its funny the european table....all is different.......closed minded Americans say....British food is nasty....but i can say one thing....its out there....but if you know it....and get it.....its purty fargn amazing.....when i embrace a culture....i master it pretty quick....Thanks to you Tom.....im 100%......worked in printing with a guy from lester England almost 7 years....talked about Yorkshire pudding and Toad in a Hole.....Now....I know....but you left something out....something ive been doing since day one.... on my British quest....in Britian....they do alot with suet....from Spotted Dick to rabbit pudding....SOOOo...in January...i did a prime rib....i saved the beef fat and froze it....its like GOLD....I NOW KNOW....in Yorkshire pudding....Beef fat....is KEY....I carmelized an onion in beef fat....and mixed it with a Balsamic Vinegar reduction.....with a hint of sweetness....AMAZING....my onion sauce was just basic.....but i used a vinegry beef concentrate that really made a beefy onion flavor......and before you whipped out a can of french onion soup.....i had already bought one.....But that.... Beef fat....i put a huge amount.... before i put the batter in my pan....MY HOUSE HAD THIS MOST WONDERFUL SMELL....The carmelized onions and vinegar was a great condiment....with a ladle full of sauce on top....im SOooOooo Stuffed.....TO RIGHT YOU ARE MATE.......this recipe i will carry and be a staple at my table......THANKS TOM

Great recipe, mine came out perfect, thanks !!! It's interesting that overworking the batter might spoil it.

Trick my Gran taught me to ensure a good rise was to add half a teaspoon of baking powder to the mix. Bit more forgiving too if someone opens the oven door before they're done!

And there we are, how to shrink down 45min of Cooker Rising in a few short seconds of adding gravy to it, it all ended a little flat for me. Strange why it took such a long time to cook, I just watched Gordon do Yorkshire Puds in the oven for 20 min, yes I know they never had sausage in them, but Tom's Sausages were pre cooked ??? All this preparing by me watching video after video for tonight's feast and my first Toad in the Hole Meal for the Family, wish me luck! Mr Spence Eng

I wonder if Toad in the Hole would work well in a air fryer, ninja cooker style appliance. .... hmmm

Nah sorry, you lost me with the onion soup and bisto (and no seasoning in the batter either)
