Here's what some icons have to say about the book!!!
Ice-T: "Respect to Soren Baker for documenting the history of gangster rap in these pages. Some hate it. Some love it. But you can’t deny its brutal, hardcore honesty."
The D.O.C.: "History has so often been written by the victors, that you very rarely ever get the real story behind anything. So it’s really important to hear from the people that were there, which is exactly what Soren Baker shares in this book. He writes about it and he’s honest about it."
Xzibit: "Hip-hop changed the world. Gangster rap changed the narrative, and then changed the world again. Soren Baker has been a very integral part of documenting hip-hop on the West Coast for as long as I can remember. I don’t think anybody is more qualified to write this book."
Leslie “Big Lez” Segar: "Soren Baker has changed the perspective of gangster rap by putting his pen to paper. He has given hip-hop power, proven its potential, and made non-believers contemplate all of its possibilities. The truth in his writing leaves no stone unturned, something he's done again with The History of Gangster Rap. Soren doesn’t just champion hip-hop. He also reveals its flaws and its truths."

Everyone talented can create their own business. The internet has opened that concept up to a lot of artists. The media conglomerates are used to being able to control who makes it or not. They've been fighting tooth and nail to retain that power too. Telling you what to think, what to buy, who is wrong and who is right. The woke progressives do not have the majority, they're a tiny fraction of the population who control legacy media and have infiltrated our schools. They're the losers exploiting power through indoctrination and manipulation of children. It's time to put them back into their place.

Yes!! He is hands down one of thee most talented rappers I have seen since Em...If you have paid attention you cannot help but see the parallels and they are striking. And the reason everyone hates him is because they fear him...They know he is dangerous to and for the industry. There has never been an independant that has had the success that Tom has had. And they know he is the one. He is the one who can take down the industry single handedly.

I like him that much more because tupac was one of the 1st rappers I found out about an 1 of the reasons I fell in love with hip hop 2pac & DMX was the 1st 2 rappers I ever heard and was hooked from that point forward

As a 62 year old grandma, I have never witnessed an artist personally connect with their fans like Tom MacDonald does. He is really a special young man & a gift not only to his mom but, to all of us! PS: As all of us mother’s know, our children are our greatest heartbreak & our greatest JOY! #HOG ❤️

the honesty. the willingness to be so transparent. putting what he's thinking into words. that's what makes me love tom. he's a sincere man. the only reason he would ever lie to you is if he thought it would make you laugh.

I love hearing folks stories on the first time they heard Em... Mine? Back in the days of record/tape/CD shops, we had a local one called "The Record Exchange". As the name alludes, you could sell/trade your music for other music, but they also sold new stuff and other merch. Another infamous part of this store was the free bin; this, is where I found my first recording of Em, off the debut album. It had like 5 partial tracks on cassette. From that moment, I was hooked. When the second album dropped, I remember being at the record store at midnight for the early release, and then driving around backroads (with my 2 12s in the trunk of my Chevy Celebrity lol) and listening to the whole album with some friends. Ahh, good times!
