This is pretty much a perfect song. Three distinct yet complimentary verses that address a cohesive narrative, all ending with that dark conclusion. There aren't many substantive and perfect rap songs out there - that's a very tall order to fill. But this is definitely one of them. Not a fan of Tom's (his songs are 50/50 for me) but this song is amazing. And as usual Nova kills it with the low-budget yet highly-effective visuals. Tom perched over that crib is so sinister, and yet so simple. Tom's secret weapon.

4:27 - Oh! You did Superman! Ok, awesome. I'll check that out soon. Tom has collaborated with some awesome people, Tom and Dax have done a few including Propaganda which I can recommend. Tom and Adam Calhoun have done two full albums together so lots of options, American Flags is a great one so is Your America. And Tom, ACal, and Dax did Black and White. Nova, the director and videographer for all of Tom's work and his partner, has her own music too. I'd recommend Problem by her. The "cans of food" is actually a triple, with the can drinking motion, and the way he pronounces it like "cancer food."

"The System" is one of my favorites from Tom (and Nova) so I've listened to it a lot and watched a lot of reactions to it, but you are the first person to mention he says "buy some cans of food" while tipping an imaginary bottle of booze ... A lot of us haven't been a fan of rap and hiphop because the music-industry mainly pushes degeneracy and violence falsely labeled as "progressiveness". Tom and Nova give a different message as independent artists that can't be controlled by the music-industry, which makes you appreciate the music-style as much as you appreciate the message. They are both geniuses of musical and visual artistry, and are able to combine the two media-formats into incredibly impactful messages. They use logic as a hammer to shatter apart the delusions that the system indoctrinates the masses to believe in. It leaves the listener with what I'd call "reality shock" when the hammer stops swinging at the end of a song.

I never liked rap before Tom, largely because any and every song I heard had to do with sex, violence, drugs, etc (and all buried under terrible diction). Tom's first hit, _Dear Rappers,_ actually addresses that, and a lot of fans would suggest starting there as a foundation. Other personal favorites would be _I Wish, The Way I Am (Eminem Remix), Castles,_ and _Famous._ Subbed for all the fun!

Tom MacDonald is much more than your average Rapper, Tom has the ability to blend musical styles together. His flow is seamless, from country to pop to rock to rap he has no limits and cant be boxed into any particular genre. His girlfriend Nova Rockafeller (not her real last name she changed it to Rockafeller because she was always broke and it played well with the name of her first album "non sufficient funds") has directed all of Toms videos since 2016 or 2017! Nova was signed to DefJam but was dropped in 2014 or 2015. If you check out Nova's music catalog i'm sure you will be as confused as i am about how Nova never became a big star?
