I've seen his cover enough times that I've gotten a bit curious about production stuff. But there are plenty of moments that hit hard every time. What really gets me is when he closes the piano at the end as if closing the final chapter of his life.

So happy you are in no immediate danger and hope it stays that way. I've been watching some of the coverage, its absolutely horrifying. I have so much respect for the brave crews tackling the fires.❤

I prefer the original so much, Johnny Cash is a legend, I don't deny it, but Nine Inch Nails' version is (in my opinion) so much better. I hope you're ok, you deserve to feel great, you made (at least for me) the day much better, thank you so much Roni

his closing of the piano is everything. - - - - - it takes wild people, sometimes, to reach those parts of us that we dismiss or lock away. Cash... Love the man, Reminds me of my grandfather. live a live. regrets come later. as does joyous remembrance.

Ok but now tell me, are you back to your place? or is it still part of the evacuation zone? If you're not in your place, do you know if it's been touch by the fire? I watch the news and think about you so many time a day... 🥺🙏🤞

@celinel9750 Oh yes, I'm back home. The reception there is always a bit spotty. I'm in a safe area. Hopefully they manage to stop the big fires... This was one of the smaller ones. The "Sunset fire".

Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inc Nails Hurt. I just like to give credit where credit is due. Johnny definitely put his stamp on it and it is forever linked to him with the gravity of the symbology in video and lyrics. The stars definitely aligned. Great Reaction.

Being 72 yrs. old, I've been aware of Johnny Cash for most of his career, and seeing him like this in this video really hits hard. Rick Beato has a youtube video where he talks with Rick Rubin, who worked on this video. Very interesting.

This video is full of other references pouring out the with as a toast to those gone before... the liars chair I think for Jobnny was about how he was different to the worldyet in hus life he was an addict, and nit a bice guy for a lot of his perforning.life & now he felt was the time to pay the pipers. Its sad when you know afterbthe fact that linevabout everyone i know goes away in the end... His wife died a few months after this video came out... and he died about 5 months later...

It's almost like the "liars chair" line is him calling himself a fraud in the music industry, (he's not) maybe he has an imposter syndrome thing going on and he feels like he's not worthy of everyone's admiration. That's what I get from the song and especially that line.

I feel like every person who sings it, has something to offer. Nine Inch Nails had a different impact, Lolli Wren's had another, and this one is hurting in a different way.

It’s a great song and it did come straight from his heart, he knew he didn’t have long left of his life - my thoughts are that he wanted to come to terms with things maybe he should’ve done but hadn’t, possibly things he did that he shouldn’t; letting go of his regrets. Although this has been regarded to be “his song” I think that Lolli’s version had more to offer, and is my favourite!

@ I completely understand where you’re coming from, Lolli’s version is more about her life which obviously is different from his, it’s just something that I can relate to more I suppose. I came from a broken family, so relate to hers more so.

Or many hits he’s had solo or .In the living years with the group Mike and the mechanics.
