The Websters dictionary in real time changed the definition of the word "preference" in the dictionary during a senate hearing when Mazi Hirono said that it was offensive to use when talking about someones sexual orientation. I think that might be specifically what he is referencing. It was a big thing a couple months back. Very thoughtful, informed content man! I really hope this channel blows up. I had a similar situation, realizing school wasn't teaching me anything I didn't already know, or could've finished learning on my own. Instead of accruing more debt, I decided to drop it 3 years in. Experiences can teach you more than anything else, for sure. As well as research, which I can tell you do a lot of. I believe that if you have an innate curiosity and thirst for growth, that you can learn more on your own than you ever could from any institution. Especially in 2021, unfortunately. Smh. I know if Tom comes across these, he'll definitely appreciate the takes. Speaking for me, it's nice to have another like-minded toker to follow (not a whole lot of those). 😁 Great stuff L.

@5:05, I believe you're talking about Russell Poole. Was a dogged detective that wouldn't back off Loretta Wallace's civil suit so they fired him. And he died a mysterious death a supposed heart attack while meeting with the new police chief about new evidence. Johnny Depp plays Poole and Forrest Whitaker a journalist in a movie about Poole's work on the case. But they shelved the release date indefinitely (2017 or 18) then went straight to video after a couple years of silence. . It was weird.

Got that streaming consciousness vibe from this too- he's not wrong about certain people probably wanting him dead! People have been murdered for much less than speaking truth to a power that has a vested interest in maintaining their stranglehold on thought. I admire his courage and I think he is exactly what is needed. His music starts conversations we desperately need to have with each other. Also, it is refreshing to hear his catalog- an overall message urging real tolerance and love for each other. You were talking about the private thoughts of the person becoming famous. One of the most dramatic slow boiling descriptions of this is in the Dune series by Frank Herbert.
