Guys, there is a behind the scenes video for this video where Tom explains the reason for making this song. He actually asked all the extras to come in and listen to the song and gave them the opportunity to ask questions and choose not to participate instead of just having them show up and upset them.. You guys should watch that so you understand what prompted him to make this song. It is intersting.

Judging by the name, I don't think Tom is even related to those who enslaved the Afrivan people. There were a few nations that did, but that's not the point. Just because someone is white does not mean that their ancestors, fellow countrymen, did these things. The vast majority of nations and countries(including my Country) in Europe did not have colonies. Even if your ancestors did bad things, you cannot be responsible for them. What you think about it counts. Good reaction.

I've seen tons of anti white racism in my country and I've been affected by it too. It doesn't change how I think about all black people so I expect the same from any intelligent black person who had troubke with some whitey. Black or white, the Truth is... racism doesn't have colour, it just hates it. Black or white, I see people not colour. Its only those saying how it is who you can trust. TOM is the God of honesty and the most legitimate bringing together of all races in existence. People like swlf righteous president Biden tell us hes the cure to racism whilst simultaneously ignoring actual racism. The people who cure racism are the ones who want to debate it without fear. Black/white you're all ma family. Wish we could kill the left/right political nonsense forever.

I spent most of my 20s in prison things are a bit different inside which sucks but it's a fact I was hated by whites because I would hang out with blacks I was hated by blacks because I was white. Soooo happy to see yalls openess to this. I honestly think more black people have accepted this song than liberal white people 🤯. The FACT is, only about 5% of all whites in this country have ANY ancestor's that were slave owners. Many come from poor white people who died working hard jobs in mining towns, building the railroads, building our cities and skyscrapers. Think about that! MILLIONS migrated here in the late 1800s into the 1900's to escape economic hardship and communism and facism. Many white americans have ancestry that died in communism , famine, etc. People of Irish descent fled here not only because of religious persecution but because of entire towns being pillaged and captured and then enslaved by Northern Africans (approximately 1.5 million anglo saxons from Ireland, UK, scotland etc were enslaved between 1500-1900). People don't seem to understand that MILLIONS of people migrated here AFTER slavery , people escaping terrible lives and people who lost loved ones in Communist camps, facist concentration camps, slavery, religious persecution etc. Right now we are going through a communist Revolution (again).. I just finished reading the book "color, comminism and common sense" published by Manning Johnson in 1958, he was an african american Communist in the USA for over ten years. Every person should read it, he exposes what he learned and how the black community is being totally exploited and duped by liberals, progressives and commies. What we are going through right now is NOT new, we are repeating history, except this time it's not the USSR (communist Russia) driving the hate and divisive narratives, it's CCP China. So much of what we are being told about America is EXACTLY what china teaches it's Citizens so they grow up hating america. There is simply no way the WHOLE society is racist.. racism narrative is a guise for anti-captialism. When you hear institutional racism it really means capitalism, and when you hear "equity" it really means communism/ "equal outcomes" not "equal opportunity." Why do people paint groups as a collective monolith? Like Tom points out in this song? Because that's communism, where the individual doesn't matter but your group identity does. Tom is pushing back on this so hard and it's SO NEEDED because our culture is RAN by commie globalists , in music and hollywood and media who don't do anything but use race to push their agenda , which will be hell for everyone if it succeeds. Tom isn't doing anything but speaking truth, so why is that so revolutionary?

I look white but am Persian. I had to take a Race and Equity training in Nov 2020 mandated by my employer. The instructor referred to me as white (she was pointing at people as an example for a scenario) and I asked why she called me white. She looked at me but I didn’t let her answer i followed up asking “are you judging me based on how my skin appears?” She moved on without answering. All I’ll say is I was suspended a week from work (I work for a east coast state) for inappropriate conduct. My Boss said I won’t be involved in sensitivity trainings in person - I’ll have to take online courses in the future. True to her word I have had to take 3 online courses. :-/

Most people didn't own slaves just the few rich & powerful which included some Black slave owners otherwise Black Americans would overwhelmingly be the majority population even back then when the population was much smaller. Also *600,000+* people died to free the slaves most of whom were Young White Men. Lastly after hundreds of years of immigration (legal and illegal) which is the reason the the Hispanic population far out numbers the Black population. There are very few who are direct family descendants of slave owners & even slaves when compared to the population as a whole
@sweet65mustang3 жыл бұрын
You guys talk like every white persons ancestors had slaves. Some things to think about. A lot of white people came to america after slavery ended. A lot of Germans and Scandinavians for example. I am as white as a person can get but none of my ancestors had anything to do with slavery, they didn't get here until the very late 1800s. Also, you should know that just because you're black doesn't mean your ancestors didn't have slaves. At its height, 28% of free blacks owned slaves. The first person in the U.S. to own a black slave was actually a black man, Anthony Johnson. That's right, it was a black man that started slavery in the U.s.. One of you might be the descendant of a slave owner.

Love the reaction. However I will say, towards the end when you were explaining how he was in a classroom, and how if a white person said what he was saying, you said he was basically saying "I'm sorry I'm related to these people, but that's not me." Now I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am. But the way that is phrased sound like "I'm sorry that I'm white, I'm not like these other people in the past who did these terrible things." Which Tom is saying he isn't like the past people who did the bad stuff. But he isn't sorry he is white. He said earlier in the song "I refuse to feel ashamed cause of my pretty blue eyes." I could very much be wrong in how I understood what you were saying, and if I'm wrong please correct me. But all in all, that was a cool reaction.

I've had a funny experience with a group of African dudes (a friend of mine is from Ethiopia) but after some drinks everyone got a little boisterous so people said where they were from, so one stood up and said he was from Kenia really proud of his heritage and like that everyone did that... Eritrea, Kenia, Ethiopia, Ivory coast.... then then it was my turn being white from the Netherlands.... i stood up and did the same, claiming not to be proud of certain era's.... instantly got labeled as a racist... with my friend explaining to them that is not the case... i just did exactly the same as they did... And even a white guy can be proud of certain aspects of their heritage... they did understand tho, and we had some good discussions after that about everything which was a breath of fresh air. Moral of the story, if we only cared to see each others view points (don't have to agree) and just listen... we'll get rid of all bullshit....

I enjoyed your review. I try to watch reviews like this so I can understand more about veiw points of others. I was really glad that all of you have an open mind and are willing to see things from others perspectives that is the only way to heal this country, actually the world. Please understand though that not all white people had slave owning ancestors, not all white people had racist ancestors. Many white people were barely surviving, struggling just to feed and house their own families, they couldn't afford to feed and house a group of slaves. Many Americans didn't even have ancestors in America during the time of slavery. That is why when people tell me I should feel bad because of what my ancestors did it makes me upset. My family was to busy just trying to get by to be involved it slavery or racism. Being told I should feel bad for what my ancestors "didn't" do is just wrong. Most white families back the didn't own slaves. Once again it was the wealthy elitists actions and attitudes we are being punished for. I personally don't care about the color of your skin the only thing important to me is the kind of person you are. If you are a decent person then we are all good if you're not, that's when I have a problems. You three seem cool, thanks for the review and the different perspective.

Tom is from Edmonton, Alberta. The MacDonald clan comes from the Scottish Highlands. If his family is like the vast majority of white Canadians, then they only emigrated over from Scotland about a hundred years ago or less, in the first couple decades of the early 1900’s (remember, Canada only became its own country in 1867, only few decades before the turn of the century), and so he’s probably a 4th generation immigrant like myself, with some of my great grandparents leaving Scotland and England for the new world. So they were poor farmers over there, and then they came over here to be poor farmers and try to make a living off the land. So not only were our ancestors too poor to even own a slave or even pay a servant, they immigrated nearly 100 years after slavery had already been abolished in the British Empire (1833). Which means that saying “we’re related to slave owners” who were only a tiny fraction of the population to begin with-just as the elite 1% and the top 1% of the 1% have more wealth than everyone else combined today-is just plain ridiculous. To paint everyone of European descent with the same brush for the sins of the incredibly tiny few, is the farthest thing from the actual reality of it all. The vast majority of ALL people on earth through all of human history have just been poor, simple folks, just trying to survive through incredibly difficult hardships, suffering, plagues, mothers dying in childbirth all the time, most children not making it to 4 years old, average expected lifespans of 30 years or so. The entire human race has gone through pretty much the same stuff, and we really, mostly still do. Apart from the West, most people still live in some level of poverty, and to be fair most people here still struggle every day to make it too. Life isn’t easy. We have to come together and help each other, have love for our fellow humans. Forget what the media says. Forget the politicians. Forget the billionaires. We’re all in this together. And I think that ties back nicely into Tom’s message.

I'm the most maligned demographic in the United States in 2021. I am a 62 year old white Christian male. My opinions don't matter because I'm not part of a recognized victim group. Everything is my fault even though I've never taken anything from anyone, borrowed a single dollar from anyone, worked since I was 14 years old and taken care of everyone around me. I love my neighbor but they've been brainwashed not to love me. Politicians are inherently evil. They divide us in every way imaginable in order to consolidate their power. Minorities need to wake up. There is no such thing as a minority. No one asked to be born what they are and everyone has there cross to bear and obstacles to overcome. There are only two race on this earth, the one born of woman and the one reborn under the saving blood of Jesus Christ. Peace.

I’m from England and I grew up on a council estate(social housing) I guess it’s like the ghetto or projects what you have. We were all poor, crime and poverty was high. Some days I’d come home from school to eat one meal of rice and beans. I would apply for jobs and be looked down on and rejected as a ‘common white person’. What people need to realise the gap between blacks and the rich is just the same as the difference between the whites that have( there are a lot of them) over the whites that don’t have(there are also a lot of them). When I hear people talk about the ghetto I can relate. Anyway great reaction as always. Defo subbed 👍

I'm glad you Start from the beginning and work your way up to the new stuff. Toms Songs tell a Story about him when you watch them from the beginning so you get a much better Feeling of what he is about an where he come from. Much love from germany, i really feel that Songs because as germans we also have a horrible history that will always be hold against us, even if we are born After all what happened. Of course we should never forget what happened in the past and we should do everything that it not happens again, but not all germans are bad people :) Much love to you guys, can't wait for the next reactions to Tom. 🥰
