Exactly why the introduction of the Whisperers was perfect. Imagine the intensity of that entire sequence if it was just someone like Tara who ended up dying instead, it wouldn't be anywhere near as big of a blow to the Survivors' manpower. Jesus got the best send-off in the series after Rick imo. He went out like a true warrior.

Pimple only used Jesus to introduce Hilltop, Kingdom and Saviors, show Jesus was nothing like comic Jesus, a big shame imo. Show Jesus was only Gregory's and Maggie's puppy dog and we saw him fight only twice. Morgan and Whisperer. Aaron was a bit training/teaching. Payne pear ed how to fight thus way for nothing, invested a lot of his time for nothing. Pimple ruined Jesus too. Kssst Pimple, leave TWD. Stop taking characters from TWD for your new projects. I'm pissed at the writers because they did nothing really iconic with his character and the Jesus character had plenty of potential for awesome fighting scenes. All the good actors are gone I wish they could or would have come to some sort of agreement giving him more camera time, more awesome scenes, including his background and better pay. They wasted every opportunity to use this character in badass situations omgggg I'm just furious!! I think they aren't even trying anymore and if I was Tom I woulda been pissed too. He had an awesome entrance to the show and had they kept doing things like that he probably wouldn't have left. I'd give the death a pass if it was any other character including Rick. But this was Jesus. The man has reflexes like a fucking cat. I know that he wasn't expecting to be stabbed by a walker but Jesus would've done two back flips and give a round house kick to Beta in the comics before that knife even came up. I believe he and Aaron were jumped by a shit ton of whisperers and they murdered them all in the comics. The show defiled Jesus's character.

I think they all had screen time equally split with all the other protagonists during their final episodes. I think those were the best times of the Walking Dead because it was hard to predict. Unlike Hershel, Beth, Abraham, Sasha, Tyreese, etc.

Fantastic sequence. The whispering/walker ducking was so well choreographed.... so unexpected. In fact, that whole final scene was spectacular. The ones whining about Payne’s death and for that matter, Rigg’s death are the same ones who complained in the past how no one dies on the show anymore. Season 9 has been terrific so far and if the mid-finale is any indication of things to come, I’m stoked.

The incompetent writers wasted his character, the did not used him at all, they said that is gay is a stupid and vague way, they never explored his sexuality, his feeling, his fighting skills. He should have been a couple with Aaron like in the comics and should have been the fighter that he is, the frustration of Tom Payne is completely understandable. He called them homophobes in THR and he was right about it.

Tom Payne was right to want them to write him out. His character Jesus was ruined by Pimple. Tom invested a lot in this character, but never got a chance to shine/get the screentime he and his character Jesus deserved. Jesus was only used to introduce the Hilltop and the Kingdom and the start of the Saviors arc, that's it. Jesus immediately was a softy on the show iso the badass he is in the comics. First Gregory's puppy and later Maggie's puppy. Tom and his character Jesus deserved much more story and fighting scenes. Waste of a great character. NOW, in the Whisperer arc, Jesus should have finally get the time shine, but ofcourse Daryl must have all the cool scenes. So even after Rick, Carl and Maggie gone, the writers didn't give Jesus more story. Seeing/hearing about his little script for S9, ofcourse he wanted out. Time for new film makers, who DO like his acting and his investment/preparing for the role. He learned to fight this way and we saw it only twice in three years. Jeus/Morgan and Jesus/Whisperer fight. Shame on Pimple.
